My husband and i are already married but we did a very very small registrary office thing, only had 4 people!
so should i have a veil or not?
im more leaning towards the not because were already married and dont see it as i need one i dont know!
would my outfit be incomplete without one?
CommentAuthorL JO
I'm just having a tiara this is my second wedding and last time I had a veil and ppl kept putting their arm round me and yanking the veil down drove me mad and I took it off as soon as we got to the reception you can get some really pretty tiaras that dont need veils x
CommentAuthorGeordie_Nikki
Im not wearing a veil (it's my first wedding)
CommentAuthorNicci
Im not wearing a veil either (1st wedding also) they look awful on me! lol I think its entirely up to you x
CommentAuthorGeordie_Nikki
Ive never tried one on just think it would irritate me
I never wanted one but in one of the dress shops a very persistant sales woman made me try one-it looked awful!
CommentAuthormrs pinkalice
have you tried one on? i wasnt sure, but when i tried one on i knew straight away it wasn't for me. it didnt suit me and i felt really uncomfortable!
CommentAuthorMrs (Dove) Pidgeon
If you want one- get one. If you don't - don't.

my friends renewed their vows 2 years ago and because their first wedding was really small she had a huge remewal in belfast castle (i think),,it was amazing, and she wore a veil full dress the works and looked breathtaking,,,,if its what you want then go for it!!!!
CommentAuthorKelley
Oooh tiggs thats cheered me up a bit i thought it might all be funny cos im already married but your friends are right! i should just go for it!
and i think no veil......
hmm.....maybe
aaaah still have absolute ages to go yet so dont have to worry too much about it. but im starting to buy stuff now so its not too much in one go
CommentAuthorClareandBen2010
i wasnt going to wear 1 but then i decided that i probably wont ever get the chance to wear one so took the plunge and got 1. you should go with what you would feel more comfortable with x
CommentAuthorRebecca
it's up to you honey! i've got one altho i think i might end up taking it off for the reception altho it's soooo pretty i might leave it on for the whole day! lots of ladies wear fascinators (with feathers or ribbon or bows) and some just wear tiaras. but you want to be happy. why not try some on with your dress and see what you think? x
CommentAuthormrs pinkalice
im looking for a headband, diamante band with a cluster of diamonds on one side (does that make sense? its hard to describe!) a bit more subtle that a tiara
CommentAuthorKelley
oooh i like the head band idea,
its ages away yet but with a little one and another hopefully this time next year (hehe!) i want to start getting the bits that i can get, ive already got my dress, had my eye on it since hubby proposed and its so me! so if i can start collecting little bits im going to.
i think i might have to try it all on and see how it looks!
thanks ladies!

kelly is this a renewal of vows? im doing that too and im not havig a veil
yeh its a renewal of vows, well its a blessing on the marriage, my husband and i went to the same C of E primary school all them years ago and are having the blessing in the church there. I think maybe i wont have a veil LOL he's already seen me everyday for the past 4 years!

I was adament that I would not wear a veil at my wedding and thought it would look awful but after I had found my dream dress and tried one on to please my Mum I realised it actually looked fantastic - there are lots of different stlyes and lengths and I was pleasantly suprised how it complimented my overall look. It added a traditional touch and Im pleased I tried one on - although I probably will take it off once the formalities of the day are over!

Kelley why not have flowers in your hair that are quite big with chrystals or pearls, you could have them on a band or combs, that way you don't really need a veil. This is my 2nd marriage and I still don't know if I'm having one, it did my head in last time even tho it was short and didn't cover my face .. waste of £80! x

l am too old for a veil so will leave that to the younger brides to be, l do think veils on a younge bride are lovely though! x
CommentAuthorHoxxyhula
I did not think I wanted one but I tried one on and I do now! I have seen lots of pics with brides having the veil under a high up do - looks quite nice and modern like that. x
CommentAuthormitch2509
i didnt want one, but my friend got married last year and she said if i want i can use her vail for the cermony instead of buying one, i think i will decide once i try some on x
CommentAuthorHappy2bme
Im not having a veil.... I think its more appropriate for church wedding and we are having a Civil Ceremony. Also, its associated with innocent virgins and after 2 marriages and 5 kids, I dont think I come in THAT category anymore lol xxx
CommentAuthorKelley
Haha thats so true! after having my daughter its not like im innocent any more, its a tough choice, because it does complete the outfit but then it doesnt look odd if i dont have one. xx
CommentAuthorHappy2bme
Well, you COULD pretend and wear it for the ceremony then take it off after the wedding breakfast. Just an idea.... x
CommentAuthorKelley
because were having the blessing in a church do you think its required i know some places require proper etiquette?
CommentAuthormrs pinkalice
I dont think a church would insist on it, i've seen a few people married in church without veils, but like everything, every one differs!
CommentAuthorKizzy81
I'm not having a veil as such, but a big hair thing - it's lots of voile and tulle off to one side with a short bit of veil I can pull down to about my nose - when I'm done with it I can put it back with all the other fluff on my head. It's called a birdcage or visor veil. x
CommentAuthorJessica
Have it exactly how you would have liked it if it was first time round x
CommentAuthorginge23
Im am having one I did not want one until I tried it on in the shop and I loved it. We are having a civil service I do not think this matters tho. xx
CommentAuthorMrsHoward2B
I don't think im going to have a veil, Im with some of the comments up the top - I think a veil would just get on my nerves, and I dont think it would go with the dress im thinking of having.
CommentAuthorRaquel007
I'm having a veil but the at the end of the day it's about what you want and what you feel comfortable in!! xx
