Ok so one of my close friends has taken the leap from vegetarian to vegan
We all thought it was a phase and she would cave in
Nope, she's going strong and adament she will not eat anything that includes animal products

So, are there any Vegan's here that can give me idea's or anyone had to include vegan's in their menu
The venue are aware and are happy for her to cater but want to meet when we do our tasting and menu choosing to "bat around idea's"
Make's me think they also need a helping hand on the idea front!!
After all it is a wedding and the food is supposed to be special and not a usual everyday dinner

    Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated x

    That sounds good!!!
How are you getting around pudding?
Our cake maker is not confident she can pull off a vegan individual cake for her
I dont want her to be excluded though :-(

Oooh difficult! I'm allergic to dairy and don't touch red meat (can't stand the stuff) but at least I do eat white meat, seafood and eggs.

The meal sounds good that hello-kitty suggested. For pudding, I'm very used to just being given fruit salad or sorbet. Kinda standard stuff and I never get to have cake at a wedding, the only cake I can have will be our wedding cake which is being made completely dairy free.

You're not deliberately excluding her Elle, it's just she can't eat it ...................I only say this because it's the situation I'm used to. I couldn't even eat the cake at my sister's wedding. I'm used to it and I'm sure she will be too. If you have dietry restrictions you accept there are some things you just can't have so I wouldn't worry about the cake xx

Could you find a bakery or store that does vegan cakes and just have a bought one? I'm sure you could get a nice one, it could always be decorated to look like your cake so it would fit in?

Can't you just ask her for ideas? We're nowhere near food choices yet, but we will have a severe dairy allergy and a severe nut allergy at our wedding, if our meal choices mean they have to have a separate meal, I'm going to be asking them for ideas on what to give them. Aside from anything, I'm tetchy enough about the idea of food getting wasted because the guests don't like it, if the vene will be cooking an individual meal for one person there's no way on earth I'm risking them not liking it!

My OH is a vegetarian and so are many of friends and family. We do have 1 vegan and gluten free person coming to wedding. We haven't discussed menu yet but with regard to wedding cake, we are going to get them a muffin each and our cake lady has offered to decorate it for us.

As with regards to menu we are going to ask venue what they can do then speak to the guests to see if its all ok for them.
    xx
