Just been onto the website of the jewellers we bought our wedding rings from and since we bought them and the VAT hit they have both gone up by £25..... sooooooo chuffed and relieved we bought them when we did!!! :D xx

I have to admit I'm glad we brought most of our stuff before the increase as it would have made such a big difference to our budget.
For anyone getting married next year or the year after its always a good idea to allow 10% extra for price increases each year as most suppliers hike the price up including the registry office!

Your right jo. At the moment we are scrapping throught so we can get our regitry fees paid before april as we've been told they will be going up by £50 on 1st April. It stinks. Our wedding is on a sunday so we are already having our eyes ripped out in fees. Its shocking!! :(

unfortunately I find that because we are getting married in 2012 even in 2010 when booking things they were charging 2012 prices with the new increase.... bloody annoying but I guess theres not much we can do about it. In terms of the fees, louise can you tell me how much urs are as I am getting married in Aug 2012 on sunday and told it is 'likley' to be 600 quid.... scandalous when ive already paid a 900 room hire charge i.e. 1500 for 20-25 min ceremony.

Hi Suzky, we have to pay £450 to get married on the sunday its ridiculous. To be fair most wedding stuff is over priced, its defianitly not easy for people to be able to get married. Im really pleased we decided to do it this year because of all the price hikes, although he have been extremely lucky as most of our wedding has been paid by our parents. I dont think we would have managed of they hadnt.

We've been so so lucky - we're not getting married until next year ad booked just before Christmas - they have held 2010 prices for us and have held the vat saving us approx £800
