well where to start i suppose with my wedding dress, i need to spend another £300 or so to get it fitted and cleaned, so the other day i seen the dress i wanted in the first place for £300 so i thought instead of messing around and one drycleaners already refused to clean it incase of damage, so anyway i dropped a few hints at h2b about getting this new dress and he hit the roof!! and did say well forget the wedding then!! i was so shocked, yeah ok i changing my dress but for him to say that was very upsetting, and beacuse its the same price of having to get my one fixed didnt see a problem and now i cant have the other dress :( and im so upset and angry at him only about 2 weeks ago he had half the wedding money to buy a car i wasnt happy but knew it would make him happy so let him do it, its not all about the dress though its the fact that i have done anything to make him happy but he dont seem to care if im happy or not, im sorry for the long rant but needed to get it out xx

its about 4-5 inches too big hun and has a few marks on it thanks hun xx

Have you sat down and calmly told him how you feel about the car/dress thing? It seems like he is being selfish, but maybe he doesn't realise? What with him being a bloke and all :-)

Meln i cant talk to him hun he always makes it look like its me being silly or he loses his rag a bit like last night, i might try though as its really getting to me keep having to fight the tears back so kids dont realise xx

Meln trust me hun that went through my mind as he has no idea what my dress is like, but with him having the money out the wedding fund for the car its a bit low and would notice £300 missing, i knew he wouldnt be too pleased but didnt think it would be a major problem like it was,

princessnat yeah i didnt see the problem really either the person selling the dress was being so helpful and was prepared to drop the dress of for me and everything then i had to turn round and say i couldnt buy it.
the dress was in my size and had tried the dress on before in a bridal shop so knew it would be perfect and would of made me so happy xxx

Maybe he is stressing out over money? Weddings are amongst one of the most stressfull periods a couple can go through in there life. Which is quite ironic really when you consider its something you both want :) You have got ten months untill you get married so dont panic just yet. I find when my partner is being stubbon they tend to switch off and not listen as carefully as i would like them to. What about writing a letter? as least that way you can say what you want to say without him butting in :) Worst case senerio ask your mum if she can help towards the cost of the dress? There is always a soloution to a problem you just have to find a way around it, over it or under it lol.

he def not stressing about money hun i sort all the money out and hes laid back about it all apart from this i dont ask for much but this one thing i really wanted, but its too late now as i cant mess the person selling it anymore, my mom couldnt help hun and to be honest wouldnt wanna go to my mom about it as she isnt very sympethic either as she picks at the dress ive got anyway,
i think ill just have to get over it and just stick with what i got thanks ladies xx

I'm sorry but I think he has a damn cheek! Like you said he had half the wedding fund to buy himself a car, you wanted £300 to buy your wedding dress! I know we all say things we don't necessarily mean, when we are angry but I think telling you to forget the wedding is bang out of order. You definitely need to speak to him and don't let him twist things so it looks like your being silly, as you certainly aren't.

did you buy your first dress in a shop hun ? if so i would demand that they have it cleaned at thier expense ...... if not try using non oil babt wipes i had a friend who had a shop and thats what she used as for alterations why not see about a local seamstress....your local college could help there

thank you lisa im glad its not just me, but i dont know how to approach the subject without peeing him off again, its just this one thing would have made me happy, its been a few things at the minute not just this, i think this has just topped it off, and yes him tellingme to forget the wedding really did upset me its not like i was asking for the world xxx

Mel yeah i see what your saying but thats not till september so he would notice as he asks me how much is in there very now and again,

lala no hun wasnt a shop the dress still had tags on so think it was a sample, i have the lady doing my alterations in sept for £150 and i have heard about using baby wipes but would be worried about ruining it

jellybaby, i was gonna sell my dress i have now after i purchased the new one and would have at least got back what i paid for it which wasnt much but without buying the new dress upfront i would sell it as i may end up with none at all xxx

But you could tell him that you'd had the alterations and cleaning done and that's why the money was gone?

Otherwise I agree with the others - just go ahead and buy your new dress - either way £300 is going out of your account.
Then when you sell your current dress money will go back in and he'll be happy and realise how off he's been! xx

Yeah I think I agree with Becky- if it's going to cause so much disagreement between the two of you- just you go ahead and do it anyway. As obviously talking about it isn't working. And if you don't feel comfy and gorg in your current dress you should definetly get a new one. Every bride deserves to feel amazing on her wedding day!

Sorry to go against what everyone seems to be saying but do you really think that going behind your H2Bs back and lying to him are the best ways to start married life?

You said you can't talk to him without making you feel silly or getting annoyed. Is that just about this or things in general as the tone of your posts seems to be that he gets what he wants and you don't. You want to make him happy, he's not so bothered about your happiness.
This has obviously upset you (and his comments) but you seem resigned to not being listened to and have given up already.
If I've read this wrong then I'm sorry .
