Hi guys - I'm new!! I have just been given a gorgeous sparkly ring and plan to get married late April 2012! We don't have much of a budget and we're both in the entertainment industry so tradition is really not that important. I'd like to book a venue that is maybe slighly unexpected and very very budget friendly in the London area. Any reccommendations?? Ideas!!

Outside would be fine, as would anywhere old. Has to be somewhere where noise is not going to be an issue! Fun is paramount.

    Thanks!

    Tricia

guessing london zoo sounds good but to expensive... well being honest not living in london but not as far away really either how about having the ceremony in some old church or so and than heading on to a really old country style pub?? might be an idea...

as I have a friend her sister had the wedding planning only done within 4month and decided on having it just small nice in a pub sort of place like harvester i think it was :) guessing u can find all those ones for a budget sort of price :)

Both the eye and HMS Belfast are £££ MzEden. We looked at those (just for fun)! Where abouts in London are you looking at. We're in SW London and I could tell you about the places we looked at (and booked), if it helps. Also, would you be looking at a ceremony there too (you need to look at somewhere that is licenced for civil ceremonies if so)? Hx

What about an old cinema or theatre? Not sure if they would be possible, but you could try. I'd then look for a hall that you can personalise.

BAC was one place we looked at. Great studio space that was a blank canvas so you could really put your mark on it. I seem to remember they would only do viewings during the 9-5 M-F though, which meant that we'd have to take time off work to view it! We didn't, but they do let you bring in your own caterers, which means you can keep your costs down...
The Rizy in Brixton definitely does receptions but I don't think they're licenced for civil ceremonies.

Thanks for the really interesting suggestions - it's definately started inspiring me to some places to try and some ideas to spice up the ceremony! Anywhere in London will be fine I think but I think I'll have to think outside of the box for the reception still :-)

    Thanks once again x

Theatres are a good thought actually - although not in London a friend of mine got married in the theatre so it is possible :)

I saw somewhere you can have a wedding in the top of Marble Arch! (Reception only I probably) Although that may be quite expensive? Xx

You can get married at Stamford bridge and probably other football stadiums.
    Hampton Court Palace.
Maybe see any museums/attactions, although they probably all cost a bit as they offer something unique.
    Good luck finding somewhere :)

    Thames river boat cruise?
I've done one of the dinner cruises before & it was lovely (someone proposed on ours) - maybe if you got everyone organised/called the organisers ahead you could book it out for the normal cost of the tickets (or haggle seeing as you'd guarantee numbers!)
They have a band and pretty lights, ticket prices include welcome wine & 4 courses? Xx

Some of the English Heritage/Royal Palaces etc sometimes have special offers for wedding - Eltham Palace had one a month or so ago - a package deal for a grand! I can't remember the details, but it was considerably less than what their usual prices are.
