Im going to get married on the summer soltice so we will have an extra hour on the day. I need my guests to feel entertained and happy. I was thinking plate smashing would be fun, water fights etc... anyone got any different but fun ideas? Thanks x

Stupid question, but why will you have an extra hour on the day? The clocks change spring and autumn, not mid-Summer...

    wow water fights?

This all depends on who your guests are. I wouldnt do this as I have a lot of elderly people coming, plus if people have made a huge effort to dress their best, hair and make up they might not appreciate being soaked.
If it was a birthday Party I would be well up for it - love that kind of stuff.

i think games like musical chairs is safer.

you wouldnt actaually have an extra hour as the clocks change in the night and when it is summer soltice it jumps forward an hour so you actually lose an hour not gain!

and in my honest opinion if there was a water fight at a wedding i wouldnt go as i dont like water so i would ask guests and see what reaction you get first xx

I think by an extra hour, she means that because it's summer solstice, it's the longest day of the year sunlight-wise.

no no not a treasure hunt like that - its the kind where you have clues and you have to answer all the questions, Like you get a cryptic clue like what time does the post man collect from the village - and then the people have to find the post box to get the answer.

My family do it every new years day and it LOADS of fun.

Then you get all the answers and the person or team with the most correct answers win! and you also give out a booby prize for the loosers!! :)

I love water fights hehe I was thinking as it will be in a big field designating an area and clothes, closing off an area to get changed. Obviously not all would b up for it but im sure the boys and the kids would love it. i just want it to be totally random so people will b like WTF? i just had a water fight at a wedding. Ataraxia Thanks you explained the extra hour of sunlight alot better than I did lol xx

If you fancy water fights remember to tell people to bring a change of clothing. I would be happy to put my mum in stocks and chuck wet sponges at her but I dont think she would be up for it but everyone she has upset recently would be
