      Getting married in 12 months

    I know, I know, it's a Mother's job and all that.

But here's the detail. I'm planning my wedding for next June. I've done a heap of events in my day job so I know what I'm doing, plus my O/H and I have very clear ideas of what we want. Recently, I've been sending my mum pics of things and links and have been getting a mixture of feedback - some very positive, don't get me wrong - but some has been more negative or dishing out feedback or advice where I haven't asked for it.

In the middle of a pandemic, we're trying our best to keep organisation for our 2021 wedding on track and have some excitement and positivity, but some of the feedback I've had has felt like she's crapping on our ideas or what I've bought and I'm just REALLY OVER IT.

So, my question is, how do you deal with this? I want my Mum to be involved and be excited, but some of the responses have made me just want to shut her out of the planning process. I know she'd be there on the day and love the whole thing so I think - shall I just save myself the current hassle and just do it that way? But I don't want to. I want her to be involved and share in the excitement.

She is a wonderful person and not an "overbearing mother", but she's very particular and opinionated on what she likes and doesn't like in general life. I guess I just didn't think that would extend to my personal choices for our wedding day. I'm trying not to snap at her but it's becoming increasingly difficult.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Thanks x
