    Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone had some ideas for different favours/thank you gifts for guests?

A lot of my family from Australia are coming over for our wedding and I want to give them something really nice to say thank you because it really means a lot that they're all paying out all that money and coming over just for my wedding. Usually I'm pretty good at coming up with ideas for these sorts of things, but I'm a bit stuck this time.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you! xx

I think deciding on favours is quite hard. I liked the idea of personalised wine stoppers. How ever for 88 day guests it would be quite expensive. At most weddings people forget their favours anyway. We're now just having little boxes filled with our favourite childhood sweets and a personal handwritten message to each guest from us. Xx

I'm going for a traditional French favour (I am French) which is dragees (only chocolate for us) in heart shape, but my original bit is that it won't be in an organza bag as I got some clear cinderella slippers (DIsney Princess theme).

We're doing homemade jams in small 1.5oz jars which we will decorate with a small label (printed at home), ribbon and a name tag to act as the placecard. Should work out quite cheap for 100 guests as we grow it all ourselves (chillis, raspberries & blackberries) and the jars are £30 for 100!!

My brother in Canada had short wide candles with a personlized label with our name, a short poem & the date of the wedding that he printed and stuck on to them. He (I Should say his wife!) decorated with ribbon and wrapped them in cellaphane tied with a bow. Was lovely as it meant we could take them home...I still have mine, they've been married 12yrs :)

Our favours were coaters which doubled as place names (and they were small enough to put in a pocket) :

    ooh i LOVE the coasters!!

we're looking at a few things just now. as we're getting married abroad, i'm thinking minature bottles with coloured sand (in our colours) with a tag that says something like 'ML 4 GB TLF/IDST/4EVA', or wee bags of shells and starfish

i looked at buying lots and lots of small, white stones and writing 'health, wealth, happiness, long life and fertility' (one word on each of them) and putting them in a bag/box

There is so much choice out there when it comes to favours. You could match them to your theme and give something that reflects both of you or you could go traditional with sweet filled boxes or bags or give a gift ie: bottle stopper, keyring (something usefull)
    Have fun planning.
