    Hello All,
I am finding it difficult to decide on a venue for me and hubby to be. We are paying for the Wedding ourselves meaning we have a 5k budget. We have looked at marrying in Cyprus and have fallen in love with a beach hotel well within budget, but marrying in Cyprus would mean some of our important family members wouldn't be able to make it due to fear of flying.
I am a complete sun worshiper and would love an outdoor wedding. I'm not interested in anything too fancy, I would prefer to have an outdoor BBQ than a sit down 3 course meal but I'm not sure if any venues in the UK provide this? My idea of a wedding day is to have the ceremony outdoor or on a terrace mid to late afternoon, then to have a BBQ until the sun goes down, followed by a DJ with music.
Please can anyone advise of anywhere?
    Many thanks!

the place I'm having my wedding would do that.. They are in East Yorkshire, however you would have to organise the caterer yourself

Do you have any family members or close friends with a large garden who would be willing to let you put up a marquee and get a caterer in? We're going to Crete (like you, to save money as well as it being beautiful!) but if we weren't I'd probably just go for a BBQ in my parents' garden. Hiring outside caterers would mean your guest got to enjoy the day without worrying about feeding everybody and of course your booze and decor costs would be a lot lower...probably not practical if you have a very large guest list though!

I think there are laws about the ceremony needing to be in a fixed structure, so you wouldn't be able to have it outdoors. I think you could have it in a marquee though, or maybe somewhere with a good sized balcony where you, your fiancé and the registrar can be, then the congregation indoors. The other option is to have a small legal ceremony in a registry office to satisfy legal requirements, and then repeat the ceremony outdoors in front of your guests. That way anyone can lead the ceremony and you can have it anywhere you like.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

The best you could do is find venues and ask if they will, some which allow outside catering may well allow this.
