Me and my fiance decided on red initially but after struggling to find everything in the same shade we thought about maybe doing two theme colours as such... possibly red (like a red rose shade) and a dark pink... any advice or suggestions?

Or not worry about a theme at all?
If you're doing a theme I think it's best to have three colours, this should help to incorporate a wider range of shades and makes it easier to coordinate.

As sarah said 3 colours would work, maybe have like a white or ivory colour with the rose red and dark pink, or have something really bold and maybe daring incorporated into your colour theme.

If you're going for red I suppose the colour that springs to mind that would match is gold??

Tho I like JennyS idea of red and dark pink??

It is so much easier to do more than one colour! I am having, coral, champagne and gold for my wedding. However, have you thought of deliberatly having different shades of the same colour? This can be really effective sometimes (and there are loads of shades of red!) xxx

I originally had in my head an Emerald Wedding then i thought it would be unfair on my H2B so i incorporated Sapphire Blue into the Theme so we are Emerald Queen & Sapphire King Deaton Wedding our logo had one green rose and one blue with a crown with emeralds and sapphires together this signifies the two of us coming together Joining of our lifes together
You can have three colours and deliberately use the same colour in different shades as Linzi-Jo already stated either have 3 colours or incorporate objects into your wedding that have meaning to you and your H2B
I'm My H2B's Queen Hes my King ♥ It just works and is so Us =D ♥ X

We're having 2 colours - because I wanted pink but my h2b didn't. So, I've got navy blue and middle pink lilies. But there is lots of pink splashed around the room - candles, ribbons...

We are having red, black & silver. We think this works really nicely, not only the colours together but the colours match us too

We are having three colours, gold, ivory and a hint of brown. My cousin had red and navy for her wedding with a hint of gold and the bold colours looked fab - very eye catching.

I am having burgundy/black/white and due to chairs at the venue being gold, I thought I would incorporate some gold baloons here and there. Hopefully it's all ok and not too many colours.

I've chosen ivory and shades of silver to pewter - makes life a lot easier having things tonal rather than trying to get everything matchy-matchy

I'm having different shades of green with silver. I think it'd be impossible to get bridesmaids dresses, chair sashes, and the stationary in the same shade of green, so I'm not even going to bother trying. Chair sash lady had some sparkly green sashes which I got very excited about :)

I'm having two colours, peach and lemon, I was unsure at first but it is looking really summery. Them two colours against my white dress looks so clean and crisp. Plus not very popular and wanted to be a bit different.

I wouldn't worry about the shades of the same colour not matching. We're having red, like a deep red colour but everything won't match perfectly and I'm happy to have it that way, we're also having gold in with the red but some things will be ivory too.

I think it is fine to have more than one theme colour. We are having purple and silver so that they compliment one another and so it is not too much of one colour. There will probably be several shades of purple used too.

aw red and pink will go nice together.

We're having turquoise and silver, most things are turquoise but silvers in there somewhere! bridesmaid dresses are turquoise, groom and bm are in turquoise cravats then rest are in silver...cake has turquoise and silver ribbon, chairs and runner on table are turquoise but having turquoise and silver gems on table etc...flowers are white with silver and turquoise deco...

You find ways of blending the colours dont worry!
