Ok so i have been origionally planning a garden wedding in July this year. However, H2B and i met bonfire night 2006 and got engaged bonfire night 2009. We thought it may also be lovely to get married bonfire night this year. It would still be a garden wedding just with an added bonfire and fireworks :)
I was wondering what you all thought of this. I wouldnt have to change alot because im behind in all my planning anyway due to money or lack of. Its a budget wedding, mostly DIY. I am yet to book the registrar so still have time to change the date. It would also give us an extra few months to save a little more.
Also im thinking bonfire night would be so romantic
Also what DIY decorations could i make bonfire night themed??

I think that you should go for the bonfire night personally if tht is what you want. At the end of the day it is down to you and your h2b.
As for themes, you could go for orange/yellow/reds for the colour of fire.

I think if you keep away from the pumpkins though it will be ok. Just a couple of ideas, you could have cupcakes like these.......

possibly with indoor sparklers. Also you could have toffee apples maybe, they are bonfire night ideas.

It sounds like you've already decided!! Bonfire night would be lovely x
You could have many colours, as you have fireworks that explode into numerous colours. Its your day and your memories so anything you have or choose will be special and have a meaning to you both xx

Bonfire night does sound fantastic, but is a garden wedding really doable in November? I personally think it will be too cold for guests to enjoy themselves if they are out in the garden all afternoon/ evening xxx

bonfire night sounds amazing. sparklers etc
do agree with linzi-jo though, is there any chance you could find a mega cheap venue i know masonic halls and town halls are cheap. just so your guests have the warmth x x

CommentAuthorJoanna
Linzi-jo makes a good point. Will the whole wedding be outdoors? And if so, we're you thinking of having some outdoor heaters?

Bonfire night is a great idea :) just as long as you provide outside heating and coverage as it usually rains on bonfire nights xxx

Aww thanks for the advice girls! I think im going to go for it and do bonfire night! Theres so many things i could do to make it lush!
The venue is my mams garden because its really big and i thought of having a kind of marqee thing, outdoor heaters and of course theres going to be a bonfire to keep warm.
Im not sure what to do if it rains though?
I couldnt have a bonfire if it rains could i? x

Aw bonfire night would be lovely especially with the bonfire and fireworks, plus it will give it more meaning to the date too as that's when you met and got engaged. :)
Not too sure about the weather that's the only worry, but then I postponed my wedding from July 2013 and everyone been saying that you can predict the weather no more, it could be raining in July and have sunshine end of November, which we did last year :)

Sounds like a great idea, but I do think there needs to be some indoors space in case it's cold and wet - I wouldn't like to be stuck outdoors in November for more than an hour or so.

I think Bonfire night would be great :-) Love all the cup cakes and toffee apple ideas and think you need to add hot dogs in too!!!!
Also as somebody who really feels the cold (I'm a wimp) I think you should include something on the invites about it being an outdoor reception and therefore people should dress accordingly.
Go for it!
