I hope someone may be able to help us!
We are getting married next aug at a country house and hoping to get married outside in their garden.
We are looking into groomsmen a suits and are in a pickle as to what's ok to do!
Can we get the groomsmen to wear tux (and we hire them cravats and waistcoats or something) and the guests wear normal suits, or would it look weird for the groomsmen to wear tux as opposed to the usual morning suits? We're just so stuck on what to decide, especially as they are so expensive to hire!

    Please help! Lol!

    Thanks

Thanks, but the prob is my bridesmaids are in navy, so if they all bought grey suits that didn't match, Woulnt they look silly?! And if they wore tux, which they all have, would that be fine if the guests weren't in tux, or would we need to have evening dress for the whole wedding? I'm so confused!!

get the men to get light grey suits as close as they can match no they wont look silly or get your bridesmaids to change to a light blue then the men can wear a blue shirt and tie and you can have evening dresses if you want but its extra money extra dresses one dress i thik should be fine as long as it is comfy and they are comfortable all day don't stress take a big deep breathe and put all your ideas onto paper and see what works have you decided on you actual color scheme for the wedding ?? =D <3 X

At most weddings I've been to, the groomsmen either wear morning suits or tuxedos (which are becoming much more popular) and most of the male guests wear lounge or 'normal' suits.

I think some guests might not enjoy full evening dress for the wedding, particularly if they have to spend £100 plus hiring it for the day if they don't already own it, but you know your guests best obviously.

When we went looking for suits, we only wanted lounge suits, but as the chap pointed out to us, if they wore lounge suits then they would not stand out from the rest of the guests, so we chose morning suits. I would suggest going for something different and then the guests can wear what they want.

I think maybe grey suits would look nice with navy BMs, full on black tuxes might feel a bit too formal for a summer out door wedding. Just a thought, it's up to you though, why not get them all to try some suits on and see what they liked. xxx

go for grey suits and a light blue or stick to your navy blue and they will still look lovely, your guest should feel comfortable in what there wearing and they are probably excited to be invited to a wedding a excuse for a new outfit new clothes they get to dress up for a day =D all the other men apart from your groomsmen maybe do not have to wear a blazer or suit jacket just a waistcoat what about that?? try to forget about wedding you have been to ad just do what you want your wedding your in control what you say goes its your special day =D <3 X

Thanks for your suggestions ladies. We're still undecided, though we are decided that the guests will be in lounge suits!

If its a cost issue we decided just to get the best man, fathers and my husbands son to wear matching ties with their own suits and white shirts (3 wore grey, one black and one blue) Despite all their suits being different the tie really unified them and everyone thought it looked great.
I think it would be perfectly acceptable for the wedding party to wear tux with the guests wearing lounge suits....lets face it if they were wearing morning suits the guests wouldnt wear them so its not much different.x
