You can get lots and lots from the bay of e and make things? That cuts down quite a lot x

Love: A wildly misunderstood, although highly desirable,
    malfunction of the heart.
37 Pounds down, 22 pounds to go! I will be a skinny bride!
28th March 2014 will be the day I marry my best friend.

I know it sounds daft but our change tin has been a god send we put everything in our wallet/purse apart from £1 at the end of the day and we are getting around £40 a month. It's hopefully going to be paying for all the little things like favours and gifts :)

Also, cut down on things that lots of people forget - like all the favours that get left behind! We'r not having any and that has saved a few pennies. x

Our place settings are chocolates with the guest name which double's up as the favour - saved a bit. also, made all the invites myself, savedeven more. wedding and the reception in the same place and as last in the day as possible so just one set of food to pay for. This ment that we could invite everyone to the service and the day right through to the night as we do not have to pay for evening food. I also made my own centre pieces and my flowers will be made my me the night b4. I have also be married b4 and wanted to do everything different - will post pics after the day. Good luckx

There are LOADS of ways you can save money:

DIY as much as you can eg stationary/invites

If you're having flowers, go for cheap, large blooms that are in season; larger blooms = fewer flowers

If you're having bridesmaids, ushers etc, ask them to wear something they own already (eg you could ask your bridesmaids to wear black dresses, as most women have a black dress)

Check out the high street or sample sales for your dress, or the bay, or sites selling second-hand

Have your ceremony late afternoon, and skip the traditional wedding breakfast, having something like a BBQ/buffet/hog roast instead

Scrap favours: no-one will notice or care. Or, if you really want favours, consider home-made cupcakes iced with your guests names: this triples-up as a place setting, favour, AND dessert rolled into one

Scrap wedding cars; if you need transport, contact local cab companies and see if they have any drivers with more luxurious cars eg some where I am drive Mercs

Pull in favours where possible eg if you know a great baker, see if they'll bake you a simple three-tiered cake as a gift (you could pay for the ingredients)

Consider a mid-week wedding; marrying Monday-Thursday can save you loads, and Fridays and Sundays are usually cheaper too. Winter weddings are also much cheaper than summer ones.

Take a long, hard look at your guest list; invite only those you are very close to. I see some people inviting 300 people, and honestly, maybe I just have no friends, but I can't comprehend how anyone could be REALLY close to 300 people.

    HTH!
