    Hi everyone

I was wondering if I could pick your brains please?

From dying my hair quite a bit, I'm ashamed to say that it isn't in very good condition. So I got some Lee Stafford treatment stuff and that has worked wonders (even on the first wash last night).

But what I was wondering was if anyone could recommend a good shampoo and conditioner? I was using the Redken extreme stuff, but it's soooooo pricey and at £10 a bottle each I really can't justify spending that amount.

I've used Tigi Bed Head in the past and can get that at discounted price, but not sure which one to try. Or even a supermarket one will be fine, I just need something to help improve the dreadful quality of my hair

    Thank you in advance

I use the Aussie range. They do a 3 minute miracle, which is awesome! I use that once a week and their regular conditioner for dry hair between those washes.
Another tip I got from my hairdresser who was trained at Sassoon, to use mayonnaise once as week. Leave it on for 2 hours at a time. It helps to strengthne as well as repair the hair. Make sure you wrap your head in a towel to keep the heat in for that time.
I have highlighted hair and I did this up to the run up to my wedding and I think it really helped.

My mum does everthing to her hair, perms/dyes etc. and in the past its been in a really poor condition. She uses nutrasomme from the well known high street chemist beginning with B and her hair looks great on it. xx

I'm the same. I found GREY HAIR. Just the one mind. And so I dye my hair way too much now and it's sulking and not growing very quickly! I use Aussie too and it's fantastic, makes my hair soft and shiny and h2b loves the smell. Might give the Lee Stafford stuff a try as a treat for it too! The 3 minute miracle Aussie stuff is amazing. I use it when I wash my hair before straightening it too and it makes a big difference. Xx

I also use Aussie stuff...and its fantastic mine had started snapping and falling out!

A few girls on here really reccomend the Alpresin Caffeine stuff (the german engineering for your hair) which a few people have said to me as fantastic.

My hair dresser also reccomended the mayonnaise trick when I saw her last week. xx

I use John Freida, the one for brunettes but they come in blonde, red or black (i think).
It is amazing in my hair, I have uber thick and quite long hair and it makes such an amazing difference, it cost about £5.50 for shampoo and £5.50 for conditioner, but you don't need a lot, I wash my hair everyother day and one bottle of each lasts me for aggges.
I would say if you use straightners or curlers or even intense hair drying try to give that a miss everyone once in a while just to let your hair recover.
And also a trade secret my hairdresser told me is to rinse your hair in cold water (as cold as you can stand) as when you use warm water and massage your shampoo in etc the follicles open up and so by rinsing in cold water the foliceles close before you get of the shower meaning you are less likley to damage the folicles and get split ends :)

Has anyone come across the fudge torture tonic?

I've found a deal for £14.99 for 300ml of shampoo and 300ml of conditioner, so was wondering if that was worth a try?

Will have a nosey for the aussie and john frieda stuff too and see what I can find :)

i have been told by my stylist thats its the conditionor thats important not the shampoo as all this does is remove grease and dirt.

leave the conditinor on your hair as long as you can .... i also use a protien spray on my hair ..if you spray it on while you are drying your hair it acts a a heat procector then i give it a quick spay all over once dry

    I am in LOVE

My super sweet h2b got me a tub of the herbal essences split ends mask, and I love the result. I've just spent an hour in the bath, did the Lee Stafford stuff and then the herbal essences one and I'm amazed at the results. Hardly any hair breakage when I dried my hair, super soft, really shiney and it smells divine.

Sorry for the awful pic and pls excuse my nightie

this might sound a bit weird, but if youre still dying your own hair try using l'oreal perfect 10?

the dye and the conditioner that come with it work wonders on my hair, i've tried other brands (as i wanted a more vibrant red than they do earlier this year) but they all make my hair feel brittle. the perfect 10 dye seems like it might make your hair a little rough before you use the conditioner, but as soon as you've used the conditioner after rinsing the dye off its amazing. so soft and shiny!

also, i use the aussie leave in conditioner as a heat protector - its awesome and usually on offer in boots and superdrug!

also, try putting the treatment you have on your damp hair then clingfilming up your head for 20mins whilst it soaks in! the heat from your own body heat helps the treatment sink in.

vo5 hot oils are also fab!
