Originally we were guna have a winter wedding but now decided its July ( don't ask why lol) so anyway I was at venue the other day as asked about negotiating price ect would they put extras in or whatever and she said no flat out no! Because its a sat in July. So that got my back up a bit I know they pull fill the spot easily but shouldn't they be trying to get business anyway? They could have offered something silly like free coffee or whatever. I know I'm being cheeky as its right in wedding season but booking far in advance you think they would offer some sort of offer. I like to bargain as I'm a tight bum lol and love a good bargain but now I think we won't be able to get any offer coz of when the wedding is :( x

I think you are going to struggle with it being a sat in July hun, that is peak wedding season and they will be booked up every sat without needing to do any offers. Doesn't mean you won't get offers rlsewhere - if you don't ask you don't get

Sadly i think Tori is right - they aren't negotiating because they know they can fill that Saturday quick sharp if you don't want it. I think that's just the perile of marrying on a weekend at peak time! We managed to bargain a big with our venue as it's on a Thursday in August. x

You are pretty unlikely to get anything off of a saturday in July, especially if it is a popular venue. It doesn't bother them whether it is ages in advance or not, as they will probably get it booked at a later date anyway. Sorry, I know it isn't what you want to hear! xxx

I tried the same, we wanted a Sat wedding in Aug and there was no room for negotiation.....I too am a complete tight ar$e so what we did was book a Friday which got us free room hire (save £800) and 10% off all food. Then when we were talking to photographers etc, they all seemed happy to knock off £100 here and there as it was a weekday wedding....I reckon we saved probably £1250 straight off by having a Friday instead of a Sat.....Works out better upon reflection as I have a lot of family travelling from Ireland and they would have booked the Fri off to travel, but now they are all travelling over Thur after work, and dont have to rush straight back x
Agree, unfortunetly, they probably wont be too upset if you dont book with them as someone else will have your date happily anyway in July on a Saturday.. If you love the venue, you may have to just bite your lip and go for it! lol xx

We are having a Friday wedding in augustt and managed to get a few things thrown in, although we didn't push it. I think you will have trouble negotiating with summer weddings on a Saturday though. Always worth a shot tho xx

because its peak season they could fill your spot within days if its a popular wedding venue out of season and mid week weddings are the best for haggling and getting good bargains.

I'm worried if I have a Friday wedding people wouldn't be able to make it and I really want all my family around me. Guess I'll have to just swallow it being a Saturday in mid wedding season lol and get extra bargain by doing a lot of DIY and that lol x

you could possibly try with a few other wedding venues you like and then decide after trying to bargain with others xx

We're running out of other venues so will have to see lol x

Unless you are going to be spending an obscene amount of money there's no way most venues would negotiate for that date.

Emma-Louise , most people will book the day off for a a Friday wedding and they have the bonus of two recovery days instead of one. They are much more popular these days, why don't you sound people out and see what they think?
Alternatively could you not have the wedding in May or september, the prices will be heavily reduced then and you have just as much chance of having good weather these days
