So, I wanted a "different" seating plan and preferably wanted a wishing tree but at first I couldn't find any I liked that weren't mega money and one that I could use again so I was looking at other ideas but this evening my h2b was on the net when he got all excited saying he's had a great idea and then he showed me this....

A 4ft LED snowy christmas tree from John Lewis, £50!

He thinks it would be a great idea to use this and then we can use it again for Christmas. I can have some tags made in maybe star shapes (weddings firework night)

I do like it but its "snowy" so that's putting me off slightly, I get married 5th November, not Christmas. What do you ladies think? I'm heading to John Lewis tomorrow anyway so I could pick one up..

I think go for it...we're due snow at the end of october anyway so perfect! Plus by the time it's covered in tags you won't even notice that it is a snow dusted tree.

Maybe you could have tags with pictures of fireworks on them instead? Then it might look less christmasy?

Yes, stars could make it look christmassy too and even hearts could end up looking like baubles. If I went for it, I suppose my best bet would be to use normal tags in a rectangle. The tags will be midnight blue anyway. I really can't decide :-S

Its also 4ft tall. On a table, is that going to be too big?!

Your prob talking about 6ft when placed on a table as well. I would say tht is alright if you have the tags dangling

I don't think the snow will be out of place with our weather. It's a pretty tree and I've got to say, I love all your ideas for seating plans, up until reading your posts I was just going for a boring old piece of card but you are really making me think outside the box so thanks hun. I think fireworks would be a good idea for the tags. Go for it. x

    I can't wait until 29/06/2013

They also have this one which is also pretty and smaller at 160 odd cm's but it is just tree, no lights or decoration and its £45. Thats a lot for just some branches when for £5 extra you can have the other one with lights but ones an actually wishing tree and the others a christmas tree lol

I'd go for the lit up one, and make your stars or leaf shapes gold, coppery colours or lots of diff colours except silver - silver would be more Christmassy but colours would be cosier etc xx

Looking forward to the pics - did you go with firework tags in the end or rectangle? Xx

Rectangle, just a normal shape tag. Used midnight blue blue card but printed on to white and decorated with lots of diamontes. Just looking for some crystal garland now, thought I'd see how it would look sweeped around the tree branches
