Wonder if any of you ladies could help me?

As you know we're getting married in Vegas and we will require travel insurance for our trip. My home contents insurance is due for renewal at the end of this month and they've quoted me an extra £50.00 to cover our wedding rings and my engagement ring abroad up to the value of £2000.00.

I've just done a quick search for travel insurance to see which is the best route to take as i don't really see the point in paying an extra £50.00 a year for extra cover abroad if it would be included in my travel insurance, yet all i can seem to get is cover for £200 for the wedding rings......obviously no way near enough.

Does anyone out there no of any companies that offer reasonable cover for jewellery abroad that i could look into??????

Mine are covered through our house insurance. Had to pay an extra £30 quid a year or something for my E-ring and not sure how much loading they'll put on for the wedding rings (total value £1400 for those), but they will be covered through contents policy.
Surely they need to be covered through your contents policy under 'cover away from home' so basically if you lose it even on the pavement outside yoru house, then it will be covered?

They would be covered in the UK up to the value of £2000.00 in the normal cover, its just the cover abroad that pushes the price up which was why i was looking at the travel insurance.....x

Nope, but just looked at that E and L one Twirler mentioned and Band 1 (which is all we'd need) is only £18.00.....think we'll be getting that and then normal travel insurance and have noraml contents insurance......not that i plan on losing my rings though lol xx

Very true! We couldn't get that policy as our evening do is a month later than the wedding date and it's outside thier scope. Still think we onlypaid about £25, so happy with that.

Ali...please dont use E&L. i looked at them when i was going to get insurance and the reviews are awful. i didnt read one good think about them. they take forever to process claims and one person only got £100 back from their wedding as a goodwill gesture!

I know they are cheap but wouldnt you rather pay more and get a better service from them if you needed to claim. i have said about them before on here when b2b have said they are going to sue them but just look at the reviews xx

You can ring them up and talk to them to discuss your needs and add on an addition amount so don't think what they offer on the web is set in stone. Its why they employ underwriters.
