    hi everyone...

im really struggling with the transport situation and how many cars i need, who drives with who etc. i know i go with my dad, and the best man and groom go together. but what about my mum, ushers, bridesmaids, kids???!!! im stressing a bit as we planned our wedding for 2014 but have said if we get the details sorted earlier we will maybe move it forward (which obviously i am dying to do!!)

    thanks!

We found it was cheaper to get one car and have it do more than one run. It is taking the parents first then picking me and he bridessmaids up. It depends on where everyone is getting ready, how far away it is etc to what works out the cheapest.

Most of us are staying at the same hotel where the ceremony is - which makes life a lot easier! We negotiated a special discount for our guests - more than 50% off. So we'll just park our cars in the car park.

But everyone will need to travel to another venue nearby for the reception.

Our plan is one car for bride and groom and everyone else in the wedding party: both sets of parents, one remaining grandparent, bridesmaids, flower girl, best man and usher (10 people) will need to go in another two cars.

For everyone else, we are arranging a coach between venues (as I say, a lot of people are staying at venue 1 anyway) and back again at midnight. Not expected by anyone, but it's a nice touch and means people can drink and not drive.

I think that if you are travelling to your ceremony site, you can share a car with your Dad and any bridesmaids, depending on their numbers. (Some people seem to have a lot of them!)

For other people, like the Parents in Law and your Mum, you might want to ask your Mum/ Dad what they think is best? Then have a good hard think yourself about whether their suggestion feels okay to you.

I have a car booked which will take my 2 adault BM's to the church then come back and take me and my dad. My mum is driving the flower girls as she doesnt drink and is happy to drive. Then my brother is driving the ushers, his gonna leave his car at the reception over night so he can have a drink. Then H2B has a car for him and his brother which is his best man. His parents are a**e holes and are lucky they even got an intvite to the wedding so can make their own way there, lol.
