is it ok not to have a top table? we have been trying to work out alternative seating arrangements other than the traditional placements but its difficult when the bride doesn`t have any parents. it is just going to make it obvious to me that my parents are not with me and it will upset me on my big day... any ideas how i can arrange it so it is still special.

For various reasons we are not having our parents on the top table,although they will be there.Our top table will consist of my h2b and my myself with my Moh,the best man,our daughter and my h2bs son.You can have whoever you want with you,in fact our venue suggested that just my h2b and i sat on the table alone(a sweetheart table i think its called) so maybe you could consider that? x

we didnt have one we didnt even have a plan as we did a bbq so we were all sat outside on chairs or standing in the sunshine

Hi - There will be neither mine or my h2bs parents on the top table with us as they are no longer with us, so as well as having the best man, we are having the bridesmaids and our usher, my brother is law is walking me down the aisle. It will be special whoever you have because you have picked them and they are special to you.

im not having parents on the top table either as my parents are divorced and im banking on them sitting at opposite ends of the room never mind at the same table. At our top table there will be me, h2b, our 2 daughters and the best man and moh, but i am only asking the bm and moh to sit there for the speeches and toast as they will both have partners in the room that i am sure they wont want to be apart from all day. hi Anni, got to agree with the rest of the ladies that a sweetheart table for you and h2b would be good as this will give you chance to catch up with events from your day so far together.you hear alot of married couples say that the day goes so fast and you dont have much time together as your busy with all your guests so this would be ideal oppertunity.this is what im hoping to do.x
