Recently started planning my top table and the rest if my seating plan to try and be organised. Because my parents are divorced and have new partners it meant we need extra spaces so my top table totalled 11. Went to my venue today as they had a wedding fayre on only to be told the top table in the room i have to have can only seat 10!!! So we could keep all our parents together we discussed the possibility of putting the best man on a seprate table with our friends as he knows them all then i spoke to my mum and she said that moving the best man was out of the question because of tradition...... if i cant move him then id have to move a parent or a bridesmaid who are my sister and daughter!!! STUCK is not the word.... :(

No they wont allow another space i asked the woman at the time and she said the cant because one side of the table is a fore exit and the other is a fireplace. I think im going to have to seperate them :(

Get a sweetheart table for you and the hubby and they can all go and sit with the guests!

Thanks everyone got some goo ideas to be thinking about there. Hails i dont really want to move her cause my daughter is only 2 so i wanted my sister to be helping her with her dinner and stuff just so i didnt have to be doing it. Besides i could see my mum going off again sayng you cant move bridesmaids off the top table. Its a nightmare, il get round it im sure :)

How about getting each set of parent to host their own table, then you have a round table for you, groom, bridesmaids and best man.

That way there isn't a 'top table' as such and people wont feel like hey have been relegated!
