I've been playing around trying to figure out my top table and seating everyone. Its incredibly difficult and i'll tell you why! Mum and Dad are divorced and both remarried. Mum's husband has been more a dad to me as my dad moved to France. I want them all on the top table but don't know how to seat them! I also have 2 small children (3 and 11 months) and i'd like them to sit with us - particularly the baby. Does anyone have any ideas of how i can arrange all of this without causing offence to stepdad or dad?! For instance if i seat one closer to me than the other i'm sure the other's nose will be out of joint. I just don't know how to proceed!!

Haha we are the same situation. So decided not having any parents on top table as be so awkward and it's a log meal so I wanted everyone t be comfortable and happy rather than meeting tradition. Instead we are sitting with our best bridesmaid and ushers and my mum and step dad are hosting a table and then my dad and step mum are hosting theres and h2b dad and step mum are hosting the one too.... These tables will be the 3 nearest to us too. That way everyone will be comfortable with who they are sitting with and conversations flow better rather than y dad and step dad having to make pilote conversation with each other that they won't want to do xxxx

Millz my work friend did that - just didn't have parents on the top table. As they were all divorce and re married there were four couples to deal with so he put one in each corner of the room!

Yeah it should work and they can manage my grandparents then. we said biological parents only on top table and no step parents to all fair but my step dad is like a 2nd dad and yes he would understand but he said its a 3 hours meal and he can't sit next to my mum and he would miss her and actually thinking about it if I was invited to a wedding I would want to sit next to h2b for the meal so said everyone or no one so it's all fair to everyone xxx

That sounds like a really good idea, i'll have a look at the tables and see what i can come up with.
