Hi everyone! This is my first post so please be gentle!!
I'm getting married at the end of November and although I have been quite organised with getting everything together, I really REALLY can't find anything to decorate my top table with :(
I am going with the Winter Wonderland theme, and the rest of my tables will have a wine glass size vase with white sparkly branches, surrounded with tealights in pale blue glass holders all nestled in artificial snow.
I don't want anything too tall but need to find something long OR several small things that I can place along the length of the table. As it's a winter wedding, I don't really want any flowers, but I'm willing to compromise.
Have I asked my H2B? Yes. That's why I'm on here :P LOL!
Any ideas gratefully received! Thanks ladies!

Welcome!!! Could you sort of make a wreath with the white sparkly branches, not in a circle but sort of a long bar that you could lay at the front of the top table, central, and decorate with flowers or ribons in your chosen colour? Maybe set tealight holders in at intervals. If any of that makes sense!!!!!!! I love the sound of your theme though xx

I know it doesn't give you long to plan but if you wait until the Xmas decorations come out in gardencentres usually around beginning of nov you will probably find some lovely table decorations to go with your winter wonderland theme xxx

I think it would be pretty if you had a swag in your wedding colour and then to hang snowflakes from it. Where the swag fastens instead of bows you could have larger snowflakes.

Loving you winter wonderland theme. We get married the same day :) I think for my top table there's ging to be a swag thing in my colourscheme on the front. On the top there's going to be a few mini moroccan lanterns with tea lights in. These will match the bigger lanterns used as the table centres. in the centre in front of me and h2b will be a foliage thing and dotted within it will be my mr and mrs letters so they stand out against the background of green leaves. How's the rest of your planning going? x
Eek I get married 8th December and having what sounds like VERY similar centrepieces to you! I love Christmas time SO much!
Anyway, for our top table, we're using Christmas garlands, which you can get from garden centres, which are essentially bits of wire with pretty decorative garlands, with wooden-looking berries and things (I'm going for cream and brown colours); they're quite long and I suppose would usually be used to decorate mantlepieces...we're going to use a couple of these along the length of the top table. Because the whole thing is essentially on wire, it can be manipulated into whatever shape you want. In the middle of the table (just in front of us, but behind the garland), we are going to have an assorted height of pillar candles, and then along the length of the table will be tea lights (sitting just behind the garland too). On the actual front of the table, we are going to hang one large wooden heart, and then 2 smaller ones either side.
I hope I have described this OK - it looks better in my imagination and when I have practiced it at home! x

When I was talking to a venue decorator I was asking about the top table and because I dont want any flowers and she suggested a crystal garland with tea lights on the table x

This is anything to do with winter wonderland but it's a nice little touch. Me and H2B are having 'Mr & Mrs' in wooden letters in front of us on the top table x x

Thankyou for all your responses! You've all been great!
SelinaK: Thankyou! That does make sense and I think that's probably what we're going to have to do. I love the tealight idea!
Tori: I hadn't thought of garden centres- thankyou! I shall have to have a look... just worried it won't leave me with much time but from what I've heard, alot of places are starting to stock on Christmas stuff already, so might be ok!
SamanthaP91: I'm so far removed from this wedding forum malarky, I just had to google 'swag' LOL! The tablecloths that we're having are white and I quite like the wintry-ness of that... I just want something a bit different, a bit of a talking point.
ClareE: Congratulations!!! It's so exciting isn't it??? I really wanted Mr & Mrs letters, but I can't find any at a reasonable price. I wanted bare wood ones as well so I can paint white and spray glitter. Where did you get yours from?
xKellsBellsx: I think I may end up with something like that, as long as I can get some without green stems (I am so anal sometimes, I surprise myself!). I love the candles though, they sound beautiful :)
Samantha: That also sounds beautiful. I've just managed to find some bare branches to put in the vases for the rest of the tables, so some sort of bare garland sounds lovely. I think some candles to match the other tables is a lovely idea.
KirstyJ22: I really would love some Mr and Mrs letters, where did you get yours from?
Whilst typing my replies to you lovely girlies, I have had an idea of my own (shock, horror!) Not sure if anyone saw it, but there was an episode of Four Weddings US where a girl had a similar theme to mine and she stuck little diamantes onto church candles. How about some of those nestled into artificial snow that runs along the front edge of the table???
Thanks for all your replies you lovely people!

We're getting ours off the bay of e (not got them yet so can't comment on the quality) but I never usually have a problem with the bay . Your idea of the candles sounds really nice and different =] x x

Thanks! To be honest with you, the vast majority of our stuff for the big day has come from the bay- I'm obsessed!!
Let me know when you get yours, I'll be interested to know what the quality's like!

I got my letters from the bay. Were about £9 altogether including delivery. Only a few days to come. They were in the unfinished brown colour. I've not done anything with mine yet though., Not sure whether to paint them or spray them. Have got a bit of time to decide yet. They were very well packaged, and a fab finish that would look good even if I left them as they are lol. x

What about collecting some well opened fir cones, spraying some white (snow stuff) and adding the glitter and ice blue crystals and just use some church candles with these pretty cones, they will sparkle in the candle light and will be really inexpensive :) xx
CommentAuthorWonkyDesmond
It's a great idea, but not keen on the pine cones (don't ask why!). I'm feeling a bit despondent now though as had found a perfect grey faux fur wrap for my girls but now can't find them in stock anywhere!! I'm having one of those moments where I'm really fed up of everything going wrong :( On the bright side I met with a photographer last night who is awesome!! So that's ok. Other than that feeling a bit sad :(
Thanks for your suggestions girls :)

Hi,
We are having MR & MRS OUR NEW SURNAME letters as a top table decoration. I looked into it and the ebay ones are fine but they're MDf which is pretty tricky to prime / paint. We got ours from*********************************- they can do any colours and finishes and ours are sparkly / glittery which look stunning! Got some great personalised signs from them too
Good luck!
