Being the Maid of Honour (or Chief Bridesmaid / Matron of Honour - depending upon your preference) means you have been selected by the Bride as her best and closest friend. So, alongside your traditional duties, why not do something extra special to show her that the feeling is mutual! This article highlights ten unique ideas and suggestions a Maid of Honour can put in place to help make her best friend's wedding even more special.

Maid of Honour Tip #1
Think about organising a get-together for the Bride, Maid of Honour and all of the Bridesmaids away from the hussle and bustle of the hen night where you can all sit down in a relaxed environment and chat about the up and coming wedding. An informal meal out, a day at the beach, or even a get together to watch a movie and munch pizza and popcorn could be on the cards, and all make an ideal opportunity to involve the junior bridesmaids and flower girls too.

If the happy couple are staying over at the wedding venue for a night or two before they head off on honeymoon, why not organise a get-together over breakfast/coffee where you can all chat about how the big day went and reflect on how much everyone enjoyed it.

If you are planning to make a Maid of Honour speech or poem, why not pull together a framed copy of your words of wisdom as a gift and keepsake for the Bride? There are a number of companies who can do this professionally, or you could even do so yourself to help cut costs.

It may well be the case that it's the responsibility of the Maid of Honour to look after the wedding dress whilst the Bride jets off on honeymoon, but why not go that extra mile? Think about arranging to have the wedding dress dry-cleaned and boxed so it is all nicely sorted for her for when she gets back.

Take it upon yourself to collect and develop any snaps taken by disposable wedding table cameras. Print them out and pull them together into a unique memory book for the newlyweds.

nah I wouldn't expect her to do all that, unless I gave her the money for it obviously, which seems quite unlikely as i'll be paying for a wedding and a honeymoon.. and spending money for the honeymoon ect... the dry cleaning and photo will just have to wait :P x
