I have now done my inserts for my invites (which should be done by the end of this week...whoop whoop!) we have a poem asking for money for our honeymoon or familymoon whichever we decide on, I've then added a list of hotels nearby, although ours is unlikely to be full I thought I better put these in still just incase. Also the parking at the hotel is very limited so I've added an address of a nearby car park and then directions to our venue on foot from there....am I going overboard? Should I just be leaving it up to our guests to sort these things out for themselves?
Im a bit OCD when it comes to details so I dont want to make myself look completely obsessed. What do you think?
    thanks
    xxx

I just put where/when everything was and the poem and added my rsvp postcards!

Perhaps you could put to ask if they need accomodation or directions, most will! x

I don't think you have too much info on there.

Our inserts had directions to the venue, brief schedule, link for gift vouchers, list of hotels (website & phone), taxi info, RSVP address & date and a map.

we did a little insert card that had the date and our name on the front, then a poem on the inside with the menu then on the back is had directions. we then had our RSVP with envelopes and then a little card with details of the hotel to book rooms.

you can put what you want in an invite and i think the more info the better :-D

we have a website that we can plot all this info on so will direct people to that.
Guests who dont have internet access we will send inserts.

I dont think you have included too much, you dont want to be bombarded with phone calls asking the same things over and over, you want to spend time enjoying your planning!

    We had 4 inserts (pocket fold, in my pics);
    - accommodation (variety of styles and prices),
    - directions, maps and taxi numbers,
    - essential guest info including dress code, gift info, approximate timings and,
    - RSVP card.

The more info you include, the fewer questions you'll get!

Glad I'm not the only one then :) I don't want everyone asking me the same questions and most people are coming from other places and don't know Bolton very well so I don't want people ringing me on the day for directions. I am putting other hotels on as we were warned at time of booking that because some of the Olympics r on in Manchester, hotels will get booked up quickly! Thanks guys, you've put my mind at rest :) xxx

I put details of other hotels on (ours is £168 a room per night so a little steep I know) and all the other and still have people bombarding me with questions leaving me very stressed! I think too much info is better than not enough xx

This is our invite. When you open it there is a money gift poem and then the actual invite layout has
the church postcode. We have printed a small note about the hotel rooms.
The evening invites have the Hotel's postcode for those driving but I have printed out a small insert telling
them about the bus which we have put on for them, pick up times and arrival etc.
The more info the better for sure

I have finally found my soulmate
On 1st Sept 2012 I will become Mrs Curry

I think it all got a little much for me a couple of weeks ago when about three people were texting me at the same time asking about rooms etc and minibuses, and parents telling me to book rooms and organise this and thet etc that it all got a little much and I had a little vent to h2b along the lines of I'm trying to organise a wedding as well as work full time and hit targets, run a house and generally live without having to organise 80 odd guests getting here and where they are all going to sleep! In the cold light of day it was just because I'm getting married away from where I'm from so all my side needs to travel and they don't know the area lol xx

We arent going to include hotel info in ours, as all our guests have travelled up here numerous times before, and know which hotels they like already. We also dont need to add travel information, as we plan to mee tup at my MIL's house and all go in minbuses from there.
We plan to just have the time of the wedding, and date etc and leave it at that. We have a wedding page on facebook where we are blogging all details as we go along, we cant afford to send people cards to RSVP (And all weddings I have been to we bought our own acceptance or regret cards)
SO we dont have to put much in ours at alL!

ive put a gift list reference in and menu/dietary requirements for guests. parentals keep telling me that its the guests who ahve to sort out their own way of getting there, ill have enough on the day to think about. feel a bit bad though as ill be worrying about how they get home. all hotel details are on my book of face page and everyone knows where it is anyway xxx
