Well, I have the ceromony booked in at eleven o'clock....now I'm worried it will be too early.

Ceromony will be at eleven until about half past....we are then having champagne, canapés and photogs for about an hour and a half, sitting down for wedding breakfast at one, and that should all finish about fourish.

We are having the evening reception at a different venue but nearby (as in walking distance or a five min taxi journey) so will be a break between until that starts at around half seven. Most guests live within twenty minutes of both venues, we are having fifty at the day and one hundred at the night...

Is the ceromony too early? A lot of weddings seem to go straight into the evening reception? Xx

I dont think it is too early, I think you are spot on for not having hungry guests!
The only thing you may wish to consider is the 3hrs or so gap between the meal finishing and the evening reception starting x

Ours is at 12 and the day bit will probably be finished by 6 at latest tbh and wont start evening till 730/8ish... not too early at all!! gives people time to mingle more, chat to those they havent had a chance to yet, check in if their staying in local hotels, gives you and your hubby some alone time to let it all sink in etc!

I went to one recently with 2 gaps and the bigger one was a good 1/1.5hrs and you dont realise, by the time people have arrived, in your case changed location etc itll fly by! xx

Well, I tout it would be nice to have an hour or so on my own with h2b...most people I've talked to said they didn't actually get to spend that much time with h2b on the wedding day itself, which seems a bit silly to me xx

We went to a wedding like this last month. Church service was at eleven sat down for wedding breakfast at 1.30 til 4.30 and evening reception was at 7.30. Their parents had invited people to theirs for drinks in that time, but we went to the hotel to check in and freshen up. It worked quite nicely xx

we got married at 11 and we arrived after all the pics etc at our venue at 12.30 and then we ate at 2 so we had time for photo's at the venue.

we then had our evening reception start at 7.30 but we finished our wedding breakfast at about 4 so there was a large break but i think people appreciated it as they could go and get changed and have a little snooze if they needed it, thankfully it was 28 degress outside so nobody minded sitting outside in the sunshine, was lovely

Im getting married at 1pm, my worry is that my little boy will only be 2, so we are going to have to try feed him before the ceremony as we wont sit down for our meal until about 3.30/4ish... the hotel said after speeches, cutting cake etc, we should be finished by at 6pm...an the evening doesnt start until 7.30pm..so I was thinking of having an accoustic singer in the lounge area for people to listen to...but now thinking about it, we may aswell just make a cd and have a playlist because it would save us money and we only have an hour gap..so that will fly by...but if u have a big gap I would consider a band/accoustic singer/duo to fill the gap, will be nice background music or entertainment if people want to watch xxxx

ceronmy is 45mins long, will then be having photos, have ice cream van also for guests & fun photos... The co ordinator will be asking guests at 12:30ish to start making there way back to the hotel, were having our sit down meal for 2pm... so should all be finished by 5ish... then have a 2/3hr break, we are having a magician in that time. & then evening guests will/should start to arrive after 7pm :)

I don't think it's too early if you've got lots to fit in as you're not all in one place. Just remember to give your guests plenty of nibbles so they don't get hunrgy! x

Well, I'm thinking people might want to nip home and get changed...everyone lives fairly close by so it's not too much travelling involved. But yes, I will be making sure everyone is well fad! Xx

i was thinking the same laura, gives guests chance to check into hotels etc... we have to check into the honeymoon suite also, also gets you chance to mingle with the guests more in a relaxed atmosphere with no music blaring etc

I think you have what you want, the way to look at it is if your struggling to fill gaps then it may be awkward but planned well it will be great. Im having my wedding later in the day, but thats because I'm having a small affair and in the winter and i want to set lanterns off before its to dark and light the front up with lantern bags, and as there are only a few were not having a disco as such. x

    Best Wishes To You All
