Hello...My name is Kat, Have been with my patner now for 12 years engaged for 8 and we have now set a date for our big day. We a planning on getting married end of Aug 2014. He says there is no need to start moithering about the wedding but I'm too excited and have started prepping already. Who is right me or him. Is 19 mths too soon???

No no its never too early! You'd be surprised with how much gets booked up so far in advance these days. We were originally booked for June 2014 but after a surprise pregnancy decided to move it to November 2014. Been trying to change dates with suppliers we had already booked with and some are already booked up! It's better to spread out all the costs over a longer time also and gives you more time to do everything especially if you want to make anything yourself like invites, bouquets etc . The time will soon fly. I started planning a year before ( I have 2 1/2 months left) and I wish I'd started earlier! Have fun planning!
Never too early to plan... I'm getting married sept 2014, and we have, venue,food,registrar and photographer already booked... I have a sample of a wedding invitation being delivered today... I'm sending my save the dates out in a few weeks, looking at rings this weekend... Even if u just book and put some deposits down for now,at least u know u have what u want for ur big day and won't feel disappointed if u can't have who or what u want in the near future.... Because it will go fast from now on xx

I got engaged 2009 joined here 2 days later and have been planning my wedding for about 18 months now? Wedding is 1st November 2015...............it's never too early!
Most big things get booked up way in advance like venues photographers and even stationary people so the sooner you have these in place the easier it will be for you and your purse strings ;-)

Nope, I'm getting married the 30th August 2014 and already have the church, venue and photographer booked and am currently looking at bands. Our photographer is now fully booked for every weekend through the summer of 2014 and so is our venue, so if you want to get your first choices, I suggest you start planning now! It is crazy how much in advance people get booked up xxx

We booked our venue in November 2011 for our wedding this Nov. Just ensure that you take our insurance so you are covered just in case :)

We got engaged last January and getting married in August 2013 so similar time frame to you.... i dont think its too early. I spent first few months just browsing for ideas and deciding on things then booked big things such as venue, church, photogrpaher and transport April/may time and then slowly done other bits and bobs xxx

Absolutely not.
I'm not getting married until December 2014, but I'm already actively planning, because things can get booked up quite far in advance.
I always recall my cousin wanting to book a particular florist, only to be told by the florist she couldn't fit her in as she was booked with wedding flowers for that time, and this was 18 months before her wedding date. She did add her to a waiting list though, in case there were cancellations, but a call never came.

It's never too early to plan! Venues and photographers etc can be booked years in advance. We set the date for 18 months after the wedding as we thought 18 months was the perfect amount of time to plan and we started planning straight away

As the ladies above have said, it's NEVER too early to plan. A lot of the best suppliers/venues etc get booked years in advance sometimes so it can't hurt to get the ball rolling :)

Id definitely say start planning if you like! Trust me I booked my wedding a year in advance in it has flown is so fast it's unreal!

My h2b keeps saying its to early to start planing and we haven't even got a date yet all I know is he wants it in the summer next year (2014) I'm hoping well if its not to bad with snow Saturday that I can go try dresses on and hopefully me doing that will help get a wiggle on with things as most people that have got there date for next year are quite far ahead with all the planing. It's so bloody annoying I just want to start planing feel like a little kid lol x

It's never too early, we got engaged last July & we're marrying July 2014 & I booked up the main things straight away (venue, photographer, registrar, cake, dj) so now all we have to worry about are the little things :) xx

Definately not too early, our venue is almost fully booked for this year and booked solid for peak season next year and chatting to our photographer and videographer the other day, they have 60 weddings booked for this year and 30+ booked for next already!

Never to early at all, we got engaged in Oct 2011 and i started planing as soon as we got back from the holiday... Set the date for 3rd March 2013 so we had 15months and now in this last 6weeks i have no stress just the nice things to look forward to like final fitting etc. Start doing and planning now, he will get into it once u start. xx

we're getting married sept 2014 and have already booked the venue and registrar, next on the list is sourcing a photographer. Get all the deposits down on the big stuff as soon as you can, then you can just concentrate on the little stuff :)
Ive got it all organised in my head lol, i finally made a decision on favours today and i will NOT change my mind haha!
Im also collecting clear jars for my sweet buffet, so no, its never too early!!

Also, when I rang the other day for the registrar, the day i wanted was almost fully booked, lucky for me, i wanted 4pm and that was free, or I would have been snookered.

Hiya - I booked my venue in Oct 2012 and am getting married in August 2015 - we got the last sat left in August!! Originally we were only supposed to have a look at venues but I got so excited that we are in planning mode lol Its never too early :-)
