Ok here it is, I'm quite quirky and love dying my hair and at the mo its bright orange and I mean bright, and I love it but even I get a shock sometimes when I look in the mirror lol. And people keep asking me if I'm staying that colour for the wedding -even my hair dresser. I keep saying to people that I'm not a normal bride and that I am quirky, and my hair was ginger when I brought my dress -not as shocking as it is now but they don't sell my old shade any more grr. But I'm having second thoughts, I asked my H2B the other day what his favourite hair colour on me was and he answered light brown like when we first started dating (thank god he didn't say blonde as I did that for awhile to get ride of black hair lol) only thing is that I don't know if he means my natural hair colour or not, as I hate it and there's no way I could get back to that colour in time for the wedding, and I can't use a stripper as it doesn't work on my ends due to how much I've dyed it in the past. So I'll put up a couple of pics -my hair now, my hair then, hair from a special date and the ginger and see what you guys think. (my other problem is that I get bored with my hair style/colour soooo easily, and since I've been growing it there's not a lot I can do to stop myself from being bored with it, I've had a fringe put in and gone from black to blonde/brown ends to almost completely blonde to orange in the space of six months ha ha, but thankfully my hair bounces back really quickly from dying the hell out of it. and Image one should say that I'm on the left but my brain wasn't connecting to my fingers apparently lol Thanks ladies
Now -I'm on the right, My sister got the good hair gene :/
when we got together
Better one of my hair now
Another fav colour but goodness knows how I'll get to it lol
special date
and first ginger

I like that light brown on you.
I kinda think you should have something natural and boring for the wedding, just so you don't look back on your wedding pics and think "I know I loved that hair at the time but REALLY!?" Least if it's boring you probably won't have too much of a bad opinion on it when you see the wedding pics in the future. Plus I think it'll be nice for H2B to see you on your wedding looking as you did when you got together, I think that's quite romantic. :)
If your hair was a bit shorter it would so pass for this!

Haha! I hope at least one other persons gets that lol.>.>

ok, for starters i am just as bad as you for dying my hair the most vibrant colour i can find haha so i may be bias. but i must admit orange really suits you. As people already know your quirky i dont think they would be expecting you to have a normal colour on your hair for your day as they would think well thats unlike her. it's entirely up to you but i defo like the orange. (and i have just dyed mine from black then to blonde then to orange then back to red as i missed it too much.)

I asked the same question to my partner the other day (my hair is a dark purple) and i wasn't expecting the answer i got, He answered, no don't change it, just remember to dye it just before the wedding to hide your grey hair though,........ Eh thanks a bunch babe haha x
Did not believe in true love unitl I met my H2B
Met on the 18th April 2011
Got engaged on the 09 July 2012
Getting married on 19 April 2014
depends on what you think... i had my hair red last year and grew it out natural for the wedding. my mum really wanted me to and i gotta say i do love my natural colour, and touch wood havent been cursed with the early grey gene of my family yet!
but im a firm believer of don't change yourself for one day. my mum wanted me to take out all my ear piercings.. and i refused because they'd heal up, and why would i want to portray myself as this perfect flawless bride, when thats not me.
if you love your hair that colour and its not just a small phase and you don't think you'll regret it... keep it :)
the logic of looking back and regrettting can appeal to any part of the wedding.. we'll all look back at our dresses in 20 years time and think how out of date they look...
tbh i thought it was going to be about fake tan ;)

I thought this was going to be another tanning question when i read the title.
I like your hair in the ginger photo, so compromise could be going that colour, still bold and a bit different without scaring the grandkids in 50 years time!!
If only life could be one long tea break

I like the light brown one on you. althought the first orange one is really pretty as well!
CommentAuthorVelcro
I'm really torn, clearly the orange reflects your personality, but if you think you'd be more comfortable with the brown then... I dunno, I think you just need to go with what your gut tells you. Do you get bored of your hair colour quite quickly and change it alot? If that's the case then I'd be tempted to say go for a more neutral colour, it doesn't have to even be your natural colour, if you're predominantly orange though, and you like it like that then... yeah go for it. Ah see, I'm torn lol!

I really think that it's lovely that he wants you in your natural colours, he obviously loves you quirky flair otherwise he wouldn't have asked you to marry him. Maybe go back to your normal colour but have redish streaks> Although i am biast as my hair is naturally the last pic of you dressed as a vamp :) xx

i like the light brown too though im not sure how you can get back to that colour
CommentAuthorBrideRAV
Well ladies I won't keep you in suspense. I have dye on my hair right now lol! I did it for two reasons, both because of LegoBride. Firstly and most importantly I think you're right and its more romantic if I'm his favourite colour and secondly and this is probably very petty but....I absolutely HATE that actress ha ha and I couldn't stand the thought of walking around with people thinking I like her enough to copy her, and I don't like copying people either its just not me. So fingers crossed I'll be a dark blonde/light brown in ten minutes. I'll post a picky later :) thanks for all your thoughts ladies :) Hayley Elizabeth -I know I loved that hair, it was actually my h2b's bday a few years ago, and since it was so close to Halloween we did a Halloween themed bowling night -I was a kinda slutty Zombie Swan lol! And re tanning NEVER I HATE tanning fake or sunbed, I'd look stupid since I'm really freckled lol, I like being pale and interesting xx

LOL whoops sorry I didn't mean to put you off in that way. I know how you feel though 5th element is the only thing I can stand milla jovovich in, absolutely despise her in the resident evil films. But anyway! Hope the dying goes well :)

I agree with Legobride, I have had my hair pillar box red and pink. Was only up till about 2 yrs ago I stopped dying my hair, was doing it from 16. Used to get bored with it, have been all different lengths too including 1 inch long. Not sure why I stopped but got used to dark brown again with some other colours blended in somewhere.
I agree with legobride, you want to be able to look back on pictures in 10 years time and you won't be thinking what the heck. Can always dye it back after wedding if you get bored.

Well I think I need another layer of dye of my fringe as that is where it was most orange as its slightly tinted auburn on the fringe, but I'll see in the morning. What do you think?

I have purple hair, it isn't too bright apart from when I'm in the sun then it's is VERY purple. I'm not changing it just for the wedding as its me xxxxxx
CommentAuthorLegoWife
That's some stubborn orange! Looking good though, maybe for the next coat try an ashy hue to dull down the orangeness a bit? Natural light will give you a better idea :)

I know the feeling! I had bright red hair and decided to get it nearest to my natural colour as possible, I bought a hair stripper and it went pretty orange! It's stubborn to get out, but i like the brown with the orange tint of your hair! :) x
