I was under the impression that it was good manners to put a stamp on your rsvp envelope, the lady who is handmaking my invites is putting my address on them so i thought stamps would finish the job leaving little excuse not to reply on time . My mother in law to be said "don't be daft they do it themselves " I am now at a loss what do i do ?

Im not even having rsvp cards and have never actually received one in any invitation Ive received (was at 7 weddings last summer alone) Personally hun I wouldnt bother...an added expense Im sure you could do without and I cannt imagine anyone complaining about it!!!!xxxx
CommentAuthorCupCake
Maybe just put a stamp on the one's that you think won't reply or delay a reply? It doesn't matter if you don't do them all, they are all going to different addresses :) x
I was wondering this the other day ,I thought I'd make some RSPV cards and pop in with the invites as we need to know preferences for ppls meal for the day aswell I did think if I put a stamp on they may be more inclined to return them altho we dont have that many and majority are family for the ceromony but wont be sending RSVP card in the evening invites they can just let me know via email or FB etc x

Our rsvp with address was a tear off part on invitation but didnt put stamps on. some people have sent them back as they are others have put them in envelopes and some have sent bought rsvp cards. If you put email address on they have a choice and you wont need to buy the stamps.
CommentAuthorSuz80
The wedding invitation i received had an envelope with a stamp on it, so just needed posting. When we send ours we will be putting stamps on. kitkat..loving the e-mail idea :) xx

CommentAuthorpouchi-loo

Not sure about etiquette but we put stamps on ours so we'd get more back than we might have. I think it worked pretty well.
CommentAuthorlala "mod" bunni

CommentAuthorimmy
Just putting a stamp on the doubtful ones or the ones who i dont see very often.
CommentAuthor'ca'ca'ca
im not putting stamps on mine; my invites will be hand made [im kinda arty] & will, for this purpose, state that "we both have Facebook, and here's my mobile number" :D I might also be putting stamps on one or two Invites, as the H2B has some army friends from his college days, and some family living in France, so i might at least help towards the cost of postingan RSPV from Afghanistan! <3 x
CommentAuthorCherryCoke_x
Whatever you are more comfortable with, I can't imagine anyone being rude enough to say anything if you didn't :) But if you wanted to itd be nice...maybe expensive though depending how many you send? xx
CommentAuthorsabs

CommentAuthorMrs Sazra
I'm not putting R.S.V.Ps in mine. I've never received an invite with an R.S.V.P, so I'm not sending my invites with them.
CommentAuthorEmsy5000
I wouldn't mind putting a stamp on one so its not needed but it could be nice and like you say it would mean people have no excuse not to accept. although some people will reply vir e-mail ect

I put a stamp on my day r.s.v.p's but not on the evening - received all the day r.s.v.p's back well before the r.s.vp by date which is the 1st june no stamp on the evening r.s.v.p's and had a handful back!! To be honest the day ones are more important to me as I will be paying for meals etc for these people the evening guests it is only a buffet I am putting on so it's not crucial I get their r.s.v.p's back but I just find it totally ignorant an rude we paid for the r.s.v.p's to put in with the invitations so people didn't have to go out and buy their own yet they haven't even bothered returning them!!x

I'm not going to have RSVP cards, just going to put in an address, and look forward to all the wedding acceptance cards coming flooding in! yAY!! xxx
CommentAuthorbillybob
I put RSVP cards i my invites but not envelopes or stamps. Any weddings I have been to in the past I have always bought an acceptance card and stamp. I really dont think anyone would complain and think they are cheeky b*****s if they do!

I have just encouraged emails! Surprisingly many people have sent cards - which they have bought and have been really nice - they have great messages in and I am now glad I didn't do RSVP cards. No-one has mentioned it or complained about buying a stamp - so I would save the money for something else!
