Really need your help. We are getting married at 3, we having a nuptial mass then on to have pictures at the park just me and hubby 2 be. Everyone else will go on to the reception to a welcome drink.
What i need your help with is that we having a day and evening reception. We having a big buffet in the evening but in the day my mum thinks that we should have soup and rolls with it being april (she thinks it will be cold) and should give people something to eat. My auntie is doing the catering as that what she does for a living.
Evening reception is to start at 7 was going to put food out about 8.30ish

How do you want them eat the soup? Everyone sit down properly? Are they having anything else other than soup? I dont think april is always cold, some years it has been really hot so i wouldn't go on the weather as so temperamental in this country xxx

I would think that canapes would be a better idea than soup hun, as you dont need people to be sat down to eat them, and the canapes could always be hot ones xxx

Agree with Linzi, soup could be a little awkward to eat so canapés would be good or you could have some hot sub rolls? Something to keep people warm but can be eaten easily x

I agree with canapes and nibbles. In April when William and Kate got married, I was sitting sunning myself in the garden and got a suntan!

Yeah I agree with canapés too.... We're having a sit down meal in the day and a hog roast at night but gonna put some canapés on while photos being taken cos we know how ppl moan about bein starving and it breaks the day up a bit... We're not even having soup as an option on the food menu too messy!xx

Soup can be tricky if not sitting down to a meal. We had soup but we were all say down and it was served to us.

We wanted a more relaxed reception, but there is a seat for everyone. We would have soup and sandwiches i think. I dont know what to do!! My mum keeps saying that we cant have people there from 3 and not give them something to eat!
I could do it the other way around and have the hot n cold buffet in the day and then just put a fresh buffet out later on with (nipple ) nibble thing on?
I said the same thing to my mum about the weather but you know mums they know best!

I think soup might troublesome, plus what if it is hot? April is hit and miss weather wise. Defo have something to nibble on tho, 3 till 8 is a while!
