We originally weren't going to bother with favours, then I read on here that it might be considered rude, and everyone I mention it to IRL seems shocked, like we'll be committing a huge sin or something lol. So I'm starting to have second thoughts, but I'm still undecided. I just haven't seen anything within budget that I like the idea of/don't think is a waste of money.
I think if we do do them, we'll probably go with either a charitable donation, maybe to Cancer Research as a way of remembering my OH's uncle who died of lung cancer, and then a little something from that charity (eg a pen, wrist-band or trolley token), OR something edible.
But does anyone have any other ideas? We don't have a theme or even a colour scheme, so I'm kind of at a loss..

I think it' s a great idea something like that will mean a lot to a lot of your guests x

Thank you :-) I've just been on their website and they actually do a range of lovely little pin badges, so I'll speak to my OH and see what he thinks :-)

I think I'm going to do biscuits (shortbread or something basic that keeps well so you can do it a good few days before) then ice it with their names & put it in a cellophane bag, then it doubles up as a place setting & a snack for later in the evening & not expensive to do
Hope that helps x

Cancer research actually sell there pin badges as wedding favours for £2 - £2.50 each, they come with a little personalised card. TBH I really dont see the point in favours! They usually end up left on the table at the end of the night.
I've had opposite train of thought. Was going to favour now not really feeling it as as Keira said, they usually get left behind.
Charitable donation is a great idea though, might look into it myself :)

I'm the same, thinking of not bothering with favours and making a donation to charity instead. Will probably be to cancer research or our local hospice x

We aren't having favours. Its just not something I was interested in organising so decided to save myself some money! plus there are going to be lots of fun bits and pieces lurking around for the guests so they will have to make do with that! :) xx

We're not bothering with favours hun, the last 4 weddings i've been to i cant remember what they even were - and i know a lot got left behind. It will take a big chunk of my budget - even if its only £1 a favour thats nearly £100 gone. I'm just not going to do them - they'll just have to cope with the free wine lol!

A lot depends on how many guests you have. If you have 50 guests than favours are not too expensive, if you have 200 then even something costing £1 is a significant cost. We're doing CDs of music involved in the wedding, and I already have software that allows me to print labels with the guests' names on, as I have made my own CDs. A pack of 100 blank CDs is not too expensive. You could also use them as CD ROMS to put photos on of the two of you.
