I know that there have been a few discussions about this already but I need some advice!

We had originally decided that we would go with chair covers - white covers with a "hunter green" ribbon to tie in with the colour theme. They would only be on the chairs in the dining room (Library) as they do not move the chairs from the ceremony room to the dinig room so we would have had to pay out for 2 lots - stuff that! The chairs look fine in the ceremony room.

After a further visit we can't decide whether or not to get them for the library for the wedding breakfast. The chairs themselves are nice enough so it is not that we need to cover them.

I have uploaded pics of the venue to my photo albums and any thoughts would be appreciated! I was worried that the dark carpet would not go but there is actually a green part to the pattern!!

    HELP!!!

I'm not bothering as I'm hiring gilt chairs that are nice enough - plus as we're receptioning in a marquee, I didn't want it to be too white if that makes sense?

im a bit stuck on that one as well. the chairs at our venue r similar to urs jonesey but like a pinky/reddy colour and look quite nice. we're only havin around 20 guests for the wedding breakfast then a bigger party for the evening so it wud mean havin sum covered and sum not or the ppl coming twice 2 do them or doin them all at same time and havin 2 many chairs for the ceremony and wedding breakfast. i just dont know wot to do x

Oh decisions decisions! I think in my gut I want to go with them as I just like them! Although if the chairs were the same green as our colour then it wouldn't be so much of a worry - I just don't want there to be too many colours!

I think the chairs look fine as they are but sounds as tho you are as undecided as me...still havent made final decision ... all that expense just to cover the chairs, but my reasoning is i would love them covered & i am only going to do this once so i might just go for it!!

Im the same as ginge hiring them for the ceromony then taking them off for the reception (after the meal) as cant afford to cover them all, besides it will be dark for the reception so no one will notice.
Shame your not got our venue, carpets, chairs everything is green :-( our theme is red.

This is my dilema too! We are getting married at the hotel in a conference room that will hold 50 ish guests. I've not seen the chairs yet so I have no idea what colour they are ( fingers crossed they will go with pink! ) I want covers for the function room only as at £3 per chair , thats gonna be £150! So there is no way I am paying out twice ... we will only be in the conference room for about 20 mins getting married, so thought I'd rather go without in there. Flippin heck ... lol

Our venue is supplying chair covers for the wedding breakfast but not the ceremony, so we have decided not to bother getting anymore, as most time will be spent at the wedding breakfast

I LOVE your venue...soooo nice! Choice is yours but personally think the chairs are grand. I cannt get covers myself as I would have liked them originally, as venue chairs have arms and apparently you cannt get covers for this shape! As for the carpet I wouldnt care too much about colours, not much you can do to be honest...my reception has ugly blue carpet with red swirls and my weddings purple!

Can I just say..the detail in your dress is gorg...love it!xxx

We aren't getting covers. I think its something you notice if they are there but don't miss if not. Also no one can see them when they sit down anyway... so you are just paying for a few minutes of wow factor.

I know loads of people disagree so don't shout at me!!

I WOULD cover them..yep they are a decent chair and colour but IMO the strong blue could detract from your colour theme...ivory covers with the green sash sounds lovely...also, your venue is TOPS!

Thanks everyone for the advice and the lovely words about the venue! Still thinking about it and still in 2 minds! We are going to get few quotes and ensure that they can still do it for the day to see and take it from there I think. Going for Sunday lunch with the in-laws2B next Sunday (also get to try some of the choices off the wedding menu that chef has agreed to put on for that day!) so will have another big old think about them!!

Dove why would we shout at you? Everyone is entitled to say what they think - that's why we ask!! xx

Hi weve had the same discussion, were getting married in a marquee in the grounds then moving into the hotal after for the wedding breakfast, cant really afford to do both lots (and like you, you cant move the covered chairs around)weve decided to not bother with the chairs in the marquee as the ceromony will only be half hour - hour wearas the wedding breakfast will be a few hours plus some of the covered chairs could be used for the evening, so only doing 1 lot wil half the bill!x I agree its a matter of opionon, and its v.expensive for a bit of wow but i think im gonna go for it as i think it makes the room.
Cupcake- what company did you find for your chair covers? hope you dont mind me asking? The cheapest ive found is £3.50 a chair, at 80chairs £280 a lot! would be gratfull to shave it down to £3 a chair x x

we were going to have chair covers but then saw several photographs of the venue without chair covers and thought the chairs looked fine (gold chairs in a barn with light wood beams) so that settled our decision. i would advise you to look at photos of other peoples weddings at your venue with and without chair covers and make a decision based on that. x x

i am covering my chairs as the chairs in the venue are gold and red which clash with my purple and silver theme.
If the chairs work with your color scheme leave them as they are, if not cover them up
i found them for £3 a chair including set up in Newcastle, i just searched for chair covers, there is cheaper out there if your willing to set them up yourself (or the venue will do it) but i didn't want the hassle.

i must admit i dont have this issue. we are getting married in a hotel where we are also having the wedding breakfast. chair covers, fresh flowers and candelabras are all thrown in with the package. we are having 60 guests. we have then decided with us having huge families to go to our local club the hotpoint club which is a hire our disco room. it is much cheaper to hire out and the drinks will be too. we have opted to do our own buffet and here we will not need chair covers so yeah i think we are sorted. the cheapest we found the chair covers was £3 a chair!
