Sounds ok to me, but you don't need to list everything on your invite. I would just put wedding ceremony at 12 and then evening reception starts at 6.30 x x

I think I'm gonna have to get married earlier if its that long between ceremony and meal... I wanted a couple of hrs break between meal and evening.... So looks like 11am for me lol
Looks like you have everything arranged how you need it tho xx

Im not listing everything on my invites. Those Timings are going on our wedding website. I just need to know as dont want to tell evening guests to arrive at say 6pm and were not finished with cake/speeches/etc yet. :)

Are your guests not standing for a few photos then going to the reception venue while you and your groom and bridal party stay behind to have more photos taken? I should think that having guests hang around for an hour an a half while photos are being taken might get boring for them?
Any wedding I've ever been to the couple have had the guests hang around for just a few pictures then the guests have all gone on to the venue for a drinks, some have served alcohol and some have served tea/ coffee, then the bride and groom have arrived say an hour later or something like that and then it was generally half an hour or 45 minutes later when the meal was served.

I wouldn't have too long a space between ceremony and meal, personally I would have maximum 3 hours. Reasons being guests do tend not to eat much that day because they are rushing around trying to get ready, the wait between the ceremony and meal can be rather long and stomachs do start to rumble. One more thing if you have a long time between ceremony and meal some guests do fill up on beer and I know when I've been drinking alcohol before a meal I either get really tired quickly or I can't eat much or both.

No were not going anywhere to have photos taken as our venue has nice gardens and h2b said no to going anywhere else as he doesnt think photos are very important and would rather be with out guests. :(

Ahh confusing as i posted similar times to these before for help and everyone said sounded right. I dont want to be hanging around with to much time to spare? :(
Should i just leave 1 hour for photos at reception venue then? If i give my photographer a list of all the shots i want so were not faffing around would that be better so it knocks the time down ?

    Does this sound better??

    12:45pm - Photos Outside Church

Can I just ask if you are having a buffet and if you are have you scheduled it in and at what time? Any wedding I've ever been to its been put in long after the bride and groom's first dance.

Well we havent fully decided yet we were orginally having a small pick buffet - like crisps and picky bits but may change to sandwichs and that.
Oh really? everyone ive been too has been open before the bride and grooms dance, but i was thinking about 7.30pm ish x

Yeah they have all opted to serve them late, probably because evening guests might not have expected food early I dunno. At my brother's wedding the buffet was served at about 9pm, but then when I think about it I realise that most weddings I've been to its been a four or sometimes five course meal so perhaps that's another factor.

I always thought wedding planning would be a walk in the park, but I was so wrong lol!

By the way, it might help you if you contact your venue and ask them if they could advise a good timeline of events for you as they might have a lot more experience with these things.

Just one more thing I think sandwiches would go down better than crisps etc, or you could have a mix of both.

This is how I'm hoping mine will be:
    Wedding :11.30am
Canapés/drinks for guests with mix of photos(people coming bk and forth:) 12.15-1.30pm
    3course meal: 2pm
    Speeches etc: 5pm
    Evening guests arrive:7pm
    First dance: 7.45pm
    Evening hog roast:8.30pm

Giving time for lunch time meal to settle
Went to a friends wedding that started at2pm,we weren't finished eating main meal til 7pm, then they had a BBQ at 9 that a lot of ppl wasted... So I want a bit of a gap between meals cos of how much food costs x

we are getting married at 1.30 and the venue have given us an hour for ceremony and to get there and then another hour for the drinks reception and the photos before the meal at 3.30, our evening reception starts at 7 and then the buffet will be starting at 9 (though not got much really for it! not happy with the choices we have now for our buffet!!) x i just hope there enough time for the photos and as it is we might not get our drinks!!

Is the church quite far from your venue as you have given quite a bit of journey time? X
