Hi everyone just thought I'd ask you all for ideas on this, Im planning a cheap wedding for under £2500 so not having a sit down meal. Im getting married at town hall late as pos followed by reception with buffet there too. Im just not sure how to plan then the timeline as normally the speeches would be straight after meal. I was thinking after the ceremony to give everyone glass of something to toast us and maybe having speeches then but they're isnt actually anywhere to sit by the bar where drinks will be waiting (its by the door just outside of reception room). This seems odd not being able to sit down for speeches doesnt it? We could go in the reception room but this will be half empty as the evening guests wont have arrived so Im thinking that would feel strange too? Theres 70 people to ceremony and 150 to reception, I want the speeches over before the evening do starts. Also I was thinking get the buffet ready while speeches were happening so would be better not to do it in there. Any help much appreciated! x

I was thinking bout not having any actually, I just thought that was one thing you cant miss out! I can see people asking for them anyway I dont think they'll let us get away with not doing any! I wouldnt be bothered if we didnt so I may discuss that with families see waht they say. Janey do your families not mind then? What sort of wedding are you having? lalabunni I did think about that too but my dad is quite shy and quiet I didnt want to put him under more pressure!
