For transport, can any family or friends take you and just buy a bit of ribbon on ebay?
Food - get some people close to you to help make or buy a few dishes each (cakes, quiches, sausage rolls, pies, sandwiches etc)
Suits - do you get student discount? Also, Possibly look into buying the suits in sales from high street (burton, river island etc?) also ask if best man ushers or whoever you have could buy their own?

We are hiring the suits from formallyyours. They're an online company who deliver and collect the suits. They work out at £60 a suit (including £3 insurance) and have lots of colours and designs to choose from :)

Try mon$o0n for wedding dresses, I fell in love with one from there at beginning of wedding planning... Erm cake couldbe some cupcakes pre baught on a cupcake stand or a shop bought cake and decorate yourself with flowers etc. wedding car, ask a friend with a nice car, add ribbon to it. Artificial flowers are usually cheaper, I got all mine for a steal of a price online and they where stunning. Photographer could be a student from a local college. Sashes for chairs, balloons etc are cheap enough on online sites that just stock wedding bits and bobs wedding m@ll is one of them, that's where I got a lot of my stuff from. X
