Im doing my wedding on £3000... Inc our Honeymoon to Isle of Wight. i have everything i want, and its gonna be AWESOME...
If you shop around and look for bargains you CAN do it. you still have 15 months to search, so dont panic...
Have a little look at some of my pics to see that i do have lovely things for my wedding.. xx

We are on a small budget too, but we have had help inasmuch as my in laws to be are paying for the church and making our wedding cake. My mum has bought some champagne for us and is buying us some food for our buffet and another wedding cake, lol. I made my own invites for £20, pics on profile. And doing my own centrepieces, bought bone china tea sets from charity shops for place settings and got lots of bargains off ebay. It takes some work but can be done. xxx

our budget is £3400. The biggest problem was finding a nice reception venue who were understanding that we hadn't got thousands of pounds to give them, luckily we have found a fabulous venue who's attitude is that weddings don't have to be expensive. I think if you can find a friendly venue who are relaxed enough not to charge you through the roof just because you mentioned the "w" word then you have made a good start to an inexpensive wedding. Our venue are doing 3course wedding breakfast, 3 drinks (per guest), buffet, dj/disco and honeymoon suite b&b for us for £2,424. Which isn't too bad considering we're having 65-70 guests for the whole day!
Most of my savings have come through knowing a friend who can help with this, that and the other - friend connections can be an amazing help (my photography friends are saving me tonnes!)
search over the next page and you will see Ricky just got married on 2k so you will have no problems with yours.

I definitely think it's possible to have an amazing wedding on a tight budget, not that £4000 is that tight. Do lot's of research, lots of hunting and I'll think you'll be fine. I always find the unique weddings, something a little different to the "norm" end up being the cheapest and the nicest! I haven't got an imaginative bone in my body so have gone with the norm. Good luck! and have fun planning :-) x x

Were having 45 to the day, and another 50 extra in the evening.... It can be done sweetie xx
CommentAuthorJosoap
Thanks Melody, When I say £4000 thats how much we think we can raise. I don't want a sit down meal, just a buffet with style. And my close relatives there to share my joy and celebabrate and have fun.It might be less! And Trish yeah thats about as many as I will have to day and Night time about 50 extra. Your right it can be done! X

We kept out numbers down so we could then use our money on more luxury items. When we looked at the guest list we worked out who was nearest and dearest and who we haven't seen in years etc. Its amazing how many people don't have to be there.

That is fab news MrsB you will have to teach us all how not to spend so much. It would be nice to have some money left over afterwards.

We are having about 40 guests and not having an evening reception, just the church and an afternoon tea party, can't wait and suits us to the ground. Might go out dancing with h2b and close friends afterwards, will get some odd looks dancing in a nightclub in my wedding dress but I won't care, lol. x

we are on a budget too, dresses off bay of E, I am going to make the cake, table decs, invites, luckily my FIL2b is providing a marquee but we are having caterers, in the evening do we are just having bacon butties and toad in the hole, i have asked a couple of people what they think of that idea and they all think its brilliant! x

I'm so glad to have found this thread! We're doing it on just under £3k as well. Church was £325, reception is at the local working mans club which has just undergone a massive refurb and looks dead swish...and has cost the princely sum of £30 to hire! My aunty is a photographer and my uncle is making the cake. Oh and my sisters husband is a DJ and is doing the disco as our wedding present!
We're having 150 but it'll be a buffet in the evening and just got to scour ebay for favours and decorations then get down to the serious stuff like dress shopping!
I am wondering where to get a good deal on flowers though. Think i'll have to just get quotes from florists.
Can't wait to be married!
CommentAuthorricky
I went into a local florist and told her my budget..she was brilliant and did lovely flowers...all of them only came to £145..£5 under budget..that was mine, 4 bridesmaids, 2 flowergirls, 3 button holes and a corsage....lovely roses and diamantes..pics on my profile of actual wedding. If the florist wants your custom they will do something for you i am sure
CommentAuthorzaralouise85
hi our budget is £6000 and we so far have got everything we need and ever wanted, so im sure you will do fine, xxx
CommentAuthorGregorysGirl
I have found if you can find a florist that works from home it is a bit cheaper than going into a florist shop. I am paying £105 for mine and MOH bouquet and 5 buttonholes which I think is reasonable, just need to ask for a corsage for MIL2b as well and that is that done. :)

Ours went from 5k to 7k but is slowly coming down again with the bargains i keep finding. Also my cake is being made by a friend as a wedding present so just paying for the topper and my sisters are paying for mine and the bridesmaids dresses so i just have to buy my girls and alterations :-)

We are on a really low budget, we may have to save up for IVF so wedding on a back burner but our friends and family have been amazing, with a 150 people guestlist we were panicking, fortunately we have been given the venue for free as it's a place we have both worked in and met! My best mate and bridesmaid is a florist, so flowers will be marginally cheaper, my mums friend has offered to do our cake, another good friend is a hairdresser, my cousin is a harpist so hoping she can play at the church. Lots of my male friends are dj's so thats sorted. My parents are offering to help with the dress and money behind the bar. My hubby to be works in the drinks industry so can can cheaper champers. I am a graphic designer so am doing my own invites. Our main expensive will be the food, although spoke to a local fish resturant and they are able to do a buffet for us for a reasonable amount. Just Photographer, Church, Groom and Bridesmaids outfits, favours, band etc to pay for...
