H2B doesn't want cravats, which he says he told me before but I don't seem to remember! We plan on having pale grey tail suits with pale grey waistcoats and sky blue ties (apparently lol)

Will normal ties go with tails? No reason why they wouldn't I suppose it's just unusual I guess? What do you lot think?

There are two sorts of carat the chunky tie type or like a tie but instead of doing the through the loop thing just folded over (if you know what I mean.

I think the chunky tie ones will look fine. Normal ties might not look so good, could always try them on in the shop.

He doesn't like the foldy over ones either, probably dislikes those more and I'm not too keen on them either really!

    carat? lol:o)

ties will look stupid with tails, believe me. The two types of tie (apart from the obvious one) that cupcake is referring to is the ascot tie, and the cravat (or carat! Lol) Both of these will go with tails, no problem at all.

What about a dicky bow? I just love wedding's with dicky bows!
I honestly think a tie will look perfectly fine, it just puts a modern casual twist on a traditional suit :)

Bow tie? I don't know if it'll go or not, i'd suggest try different things on in the hire shop. They'll advise you what looks good and what doesn't xx

You'll need a fly collar if you have bow ties ideally. And cravats as well now I thnk about it. What ou,also, have to consider,is, that tails are not a traditional suit. This why a conventional tie wouldn't work in my opinion.

I dunno, normal cravats look just like chubby ruchy ties so it probably wouldn't look too much different. Not different enough to look completely out of place anyway.
