I'm not going to as I want to keep mine not throw it away. It would be nice to do but I can't really justify getting a spare one made just to throw to someone.

i was reading about the tradtion of the flowers and how they came about ... i found it really interesting:
In medieval Europe, a bride typically did not expect to wear her wedding dress again, and the dress was considered good luck for other women, a type of fertility charm. After the wedding, single women chased the bride and ripped pieces off her dress, leaving her in tatters. Over the years, wedding dresses became more expensive and it became traditional for women to keep them, either as a memento or to pass on to a daughter for her wedding day. To prevent guests from ripping the wedding dress, brides began throwing other objects as a distraction, one of which was the garter. Later, the bouquet became the most traditionally thrown object. The wedding bouquet is particularly suited to this use, as flowers symbolize fertility.
am having a smaller one that am keeping on the top table as decoration untill it time to throw it so i can keep the original one.

I am keeping mine if I decide to have one made out of silk/foam flowers but otherwise I will probably throw it, and hope my best mate catches it, would love to see her wedding! I am keeping my dress etc. so as long as I have a photo of my flowers I will be happy. :)

Ive never been to a weddign where its been thrown but i like the idea of a cheaper one being made so i can throw that but i also like the idea of putting my bouquet on matthews grandmas grave the next day. I would like to put it on my grandmas grave but she was scattered and her name is on my grandas stone but he's burried pretty far away and plus im sure matthew would like the idea of her having my flowers. I might ask his granda on the day what he thinks?

CommentAuthorsuzky123
i am going to have loose white roses with one red. That way when they are thrown, most girls will get one but the red one is obviously the one they want. Then later on I am going to ask the DJ to ask all married couples on to the dance floor. He will then sit us down in order of the time spent married so that it leaves my nan and grandad as they have been married the longest. I will then pass the bouquet (the real one) onto them and ask them to offer a few words of wisdom. I know my nan will appreciate this and can show it off in pride of place and then i'm sure at some point she will return it back to me. Its a nice way of getting them involved and it keeps the emotion going for longer.

I wont be throwing mine as I will be having a silk one. Both my sisters put their boquets on our Grandma's grave the day after their weddings, but I think I will keep mine for my daughter. If I manage to store it corrctly it may still be useable for her!
