I have been a bridesmaid twice so far I think. Think I was a flower girl for my dad and stepmum but can't really remember. Flower girl doesn't count though right?
My mum has been a bridesmaid six times and has never been married.

I've heard it but I wouldn't worry about it. After all, you ARE getting married lol. I've been a bridesmaid once for my mum and stepdad when I was about 7 xx

I had only been a BM once for my mums cousin when i was about 6 but I have just been asked again today for my friend whos just got engaged :D
There are so many people out there who will tell you
what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!
In the old days apparently the BM's were supposed to ward off or confuse the evil sprits and therefore protect the bride hence why apparently once you've been a BM 3 times the evil spirits have got to you so much that you can't get married yourself.
I mentioned to my cousin about possibility of her being one of my BM's but she said she won't now because she is married (apparently the Chinese can only be BM's if they're unmarried).

We're in the same boat then hun! I'm just being silly but imagine that in a different era we'd never be married.
My sister is ignorning the Chinese way of thinking and will be my MOH even though she got married last year.
I wonder if anyone who's been a BM twice would say no if asked again just in case xx

I have only ever been a bridesmaid twice. The first time I was about 6, it was when my uncle got married. I was very very ill on the day and I now say that it was a bad omen as she and my aunties husband had an affair together. The second time was when my mum married her ex husband. I was 13 at the time. I hated that day. She stuck me in a frumpy dress that looked like a pair of old curtains and after begging and pleading with her not to put a French plat in my hair she did. I cant wait for her to marry her now partner and I'm going to sort my own dress out and hair. But this is going to be ages away as she is more bothered about my wedding at the moment. I don't believe the saying at all.

I'm not sure if we have any advances, but I've been one 7 times! 3 times as a child, once as a teenager, 3 times as an adult. Guess I've done it so many times the superstition has undone itself- at least I hope so as my wedding is in 3 weeks!!! Xx

Lol - I did think the amount of weddings I have been to and the few I've been BM at (two were Chinese weddings in Malaysia where I kinda wasn't asked, I was told, so slightly different to how we do them here) I've got lotsa ideas for what to do and what not to do.
I don't want to say I am superstitious but there is something that gets me.............maybe I am superstitious, it's the Chinese in me xx

I have never been a bridesmaid :( But I am maid of honour for my best friend next year so that should be fun! :) But I have to admitt I am a bit superstitious! And I would probably have been worrying for years that I would die a spinster if I had been a bridesmaid 3 times! lol xx

I've been a BM 3 times, two of those have ended in divorce and the other has been riddled with adultery so I've advised everyone to avoid using me as a BM as I'm bad luck. I don't believe the old wives tale though and I tend to take superstition with a pinch of salt. However, H2B is off to Afghanistan in a couple of weeks so I'm doing everything I can to bring us luck.
