just out of interest did any of you watch the three grand wedding programme on the wedding channel on sky hee hee... I did wonder if it was entirely fair as the oxford team (no offence) was given, loaned, grown it, family member made it.. all fair play to them but they won and had it easier than the others...

i watched one episode of it and thought what utter shite lol! really not for me, they were looking at horse and carts and farms on the one i watched and caravans! x

I saw it and I agree with you. I sky plused it and just scanned them to try and pick up some money saving tips. But yes the oxford team really did have it easier than the others. It was also unfair because chikadilly's team had to make their budget stretch to cater for 150 guests!

i watched it, it was so unreal - all the photographers ect giving their services for free to get publicity on a TV program......

as my h2b pointed out the oxford lot already had enough money and the help to get married and they looked so underwhelmed when they found they had won!! i watched it for money saving tips aswell because our budget is even less than £3000 and i think we are doing ok, but the london team spent £75 on her bouquet when the dress was only £107 that was a big waste of budget when she would have loved a simple bright one.the most annoying thing was the judge "wedding expert" fleur with her probably extremely overpriced boutique giving her snooty opinions. she was biased towards the oxford team all alongxx

was it the programme where they had huge martini glasses for centre pieces?? filled with green jelly stuff? i have searched high and low for over sized martini glasses, and the size they were showing must have been £30+ each!! and they had millions of tables lol, such an un-realistic programme...they seem to have 100+ guests and have seat covers etc etc :(my wedding is coming in at £2900 and we are only having 30 guests lol

we are only having 50/60 with a buffet and they had a sit down meal in a hotel in the surrey group with at least 40 guests if not more, also in reality wedding planners could cost as much as their entire budgets if not more!!

Hi all, I was just looking for the show three grand weddings as I was in fact one part of the Oxford couple! I would just like to put a few things straight!
The whole point of a budget wedding is to save money and good on our team to think that we would win if they begged borrowed and stole which is exactly what they did to win the competition for us.
Not sure why we had it easier? Because our friends and family worked hard?!
We got to all choose our wedding list if guests but obviously the less people you have the cheaper your day will be I would have loved 150 people also!!!
My mother found an advert on a wedding forum for a photographer who wanted to get a couple of weddings for his portfolio so YES was offering it for free, shop around people hi name was NAME REMOVED AS NO ADVERTISING ALLOWED
My husband and myself did not have money hence why I entered!!! My husband was self employed until the recession hit when he had no work and my work got less. My parents have some money but why should they pay for my day? And I want to point out my mum was concerned when we entered and won.
As for being underwhelmed we had the best day ever and that is thanks to our family. We were told by wedding tv that we had not come first and not come last, bearing in mind our wedding day was a month or so ahead of everyone else's. so we were very happy.
