I don't even know If I'm going to thrown mine - I was contemplating preserving it as I saw a company at the wedding fair that does it all for you and they put it in lovely frames etc either that or I'm going to put it on my grans resting place!!!xx

I ordered one bridal boquet and 4 bridesmaid boquets off ebay but i only have 3 bridesmaid so i will trow the spare incase i dont get i back. Single ladies are like vultures. I will probably throw it after the meal when everybody is ready to move out so they can rearrange the room x

Im having a 'fake' throwing for the photos because i want to keep mine. Although my mum has suggested getting an extra bridesmaid bouquet or a bunch of roses from tesco and using one of these for throwing so might do that. My first wedding i threw the bouquet during the reception after cake cutting so everyone had a chance of catching it.

Lol Debz thats such a cool idea!!!!! I am not throwing mine either its a bit American for my tastes not really a Brit tradition also I wont to send my flowers to my bed-bound aunt who can't make it and what if the person who catches them does not give them back tragic. :D

My MoH came up with it after we said about honeymoon babies, we checked that the "olds" attending had good sense of humour, .. the only one I was a tad worried about was MIL2B but apparently she finds stuff like that hilarious. I'm making my own bouquet with my MoH so it'll be really special to me, and I don't want some eejit to take it! Might put some rose petals in to cushion the blow though. Hehe.

Found this girls thought it was interesting.

The wedding bouquet is a tradition that goes back almost as far as weddings themselves. While it's obvious that the flowers are a symbol of fertility, the origins of the wedding bouquet and the tradition of throwing the bouquet (thus passing on that fertility) to another available young lady are less clear. Suffice to say that the wedding bouquet is now a time-honored tradition that is observed in most weddings today.

Once just a simple and small collection of flowers, the wedding bouquet has evolved over time to the point where literally hundreds of dollars are now spent on beautifully designed and arranged ornate wedding bouquets. Most modern brides, in fact, will often have two bouquets. One elaborate wedding bouquet is designed to be carried down the aisle during the ceremony and used in photographs while the other is typically smaller and designed to be thrown into the throng of the bride's available girlfriends who will then proceed to scramble and claw at one another in an attempt to be the lucky girl who "catches" the bouquet and thus becomes the next woman destined to be married.
