Well as the title says. We were looking into getting a room for 30 people but We have so many family coming we need a bigger room. Silly families why do they all insist on coming to our wedding.

I dont mind i would have them all here but what do i do about the food for wedding breakfast

Oh and just found out the smaller room now only holds 10 people and the bigger room only holds 45 people
Oh dear this is going to be tight

How many people do you WANT to come, and how many can you afford? Work that out and go from there; there are plenty of people who I'm sure would love to come to our ceremony and wedding breakfast, but we've limited it to immediate family, or very close friends and family; there will be 44 inc us during the day.

If you want more people to come, then by all means look for a larger venue, and if money is an issue, you can save by maybe doing a buffet instead of a 3 course meal, by having it later so you don't need canapes, etc. If however you're looking because you feel pressured into inviting people you're not fussed about, don't; invite who you want, and simply cite number constraints if they say anything.

We all the people to come to the day but cant afford it so we have choosen 42 people to come including us.

I dont think we will be able to afford the 3 course sit down meal so might have to have a hot buffet as a meal

We did think about people paying for there own meal but i dont want to do that as i find that cheeky

One way of doing things is to have the ceremony later and go straight to the evening reception, serving a buffet, as then you're not paying twice for food. Also agree with looking at local halls/community centres as they can be much cheaper, and you can then get caterers in, or, ask a few family and friends to help set up the buffet; Waitrose do things like cooked hams and beef, so preparation is minimal, and you can hire crockery and cutlery very cheaply; Waitrose also do free glass hire. You can also hire wait staff, we hired a cocktail bar tender for my 21st and he cost £20 an hour.

The reception venue is really cheap and it is what we want so dont really want o change that.It will be the food we will be changing as we wont be able to feed 42 people a wedding breakfast. I might have to email him and say it has gone from 30 people to 42 and could we have a buffet instead of the meal. Oh why did i have to ring the reg offic i should have just lefft it as a surprise for when we went to give notice in sept
