    Brilly, sorry to hear about your dad, and also anni about your sister.....
    I am also looking for pink ribbon envelopes to put out at my reception hoping my guests will fill. Breast Cancer is a charity close to my heart as I am a 2 year survivor, and so far everything looks great. and I just want to do something in honour of the charity;

    thank you raggedy and way to go hun on ur fight and glad everything looking good hun its a hard thing to cope with hun my dad only knew for 8 weeks he never got the chance to fight it and to be honest he never stood a chance against it thats why i thought this would be a brill idea to help in some kind of way to help others who have suffered or are suffering from any form of cancer my mams also had it 3 times but shes been lucky to have fought it off at the cost of a hysterectomy keep the fight up hun and fingers crossed ur 2 yr turns into 30-40-50 yr hun big hugs xxx

    I bought the macmillan wedding favours which is a placecard and pin badge (2 lovebirds) they were £2.00 (recommended donation). I have two auntie's currently with breast cancer and my dad was diagnosed with chronic myloid leukemia on his 60th birthday in October - it's horrible how many people are affected by cancer now and we both wanted to honour the wonderful work the macmillan nurses do.

    I'll post a link on your wall hun to their site you can buy the merchandise from, you can also print off bespoke posters / flyers / cards etc so we did one to put on the tables.

    Here's pics of our favours

    Simeon the dove pins are gorgeous! We are asking for donations to charity instead of presents. We will be putting some to heart charity and some to cancer as well as these are the 2 things that have affected our families! :( x

    Brilly.....another thing a few of us are doing on here is donating our hair...
    I am growing mine for the wedding, but 2 days later I am having it cut.....not bald just shorter......and donating it to the princess charity to make wigs for children with cancer. theres a thread here somewhere and a lot of girls are doing it.

    mrsmarr2b.....ditto. we have been together for 16 years so i think we have all we need.....and where some people put a gift note in with their invites we are asking for a charitable donation to our favourite charities.....breast cancer, lincolnshire ambucopter, and the born free foundation.....then anyone can donate to something they feel a connection with.

    Ditto.....I get married on the Saturday 11th August and booked in for Monday 13th, then I dont have to be messing with my hair on honeymoon, and we fly on Tuesday!
    I watched a programmm not long ago about children with cancer, and this one little girl of 5 went through so much, so may treatments and chemo and everything, and she was so brave, but the one and only thing that made her cry was that she had no hair....and when she got a wig the transformation in her was remarkable......I really want to make that happen for others.

    My hair is halfway down my back, and I am having it cut into my neck and a long bob at the front.....victoria beckham style......so there will be a good 10-12 inches to cut off. I think it has to be at least 7 inches for them to work with.

    It's just so much better to help someone rather than have the hairdresser sweep it into the bin isnt it?

    I am so getting P***** off with mine and cant wait to get it cut.....you just put 2 bands on it....top and bottom, then wrap it in cling film to keep it from going everywhere and post it.....(i'll find the address)..
    i think dyed hair is OK, but they cant use permed hair.
