As we're getting married in Gretna, then onto honeymoon and so we've decided to have our evening reception for everyone who isn't coming to the wedding when we get back from honeymoon.

Thought we could have a buffet (maybe cater ourselves??) and somewhere to hold upto 150 people. I've just rang our local club (used to go there as a kid and it was lovely then, and 5 mins walk away from us) - and we've been told that their function room holds upto 180 people, we can do our own catering if we want (and find our own dj/entertainment) and the room hire is only £80.!!!!

The only downside is that the room is available 7pm - 11.30pm - but think that would be ok. What does anyone else think? Do you think a later bar would be better or anyone else sticking to normal bar hours?

Well we're going round there to have a look tomorrow afternoon - and tbh it's only me wondering about the bar time - h2b thinks it's fine so if the place is nice then we'll book and pay.

It should be great for everyone to get to as well, as I work locally so workmates will know where it is, same for h2b - family are more or less local (or at least this side of Leeds) so convenient for taxis as well (and we can walk home - only about 3 streets away lol).

Sounds brilliant, we had a similar thing for our engagement party..nice cheap room hire and get in your own food and entertainment..and thats great that you can have the bar til midnight aswell now :)
