So we have 62 days to go and we've done it all on £3k which is great however the cutting of corners is biting us on the bot now. My sisters husband is a DJ but so he could enjoy the reception he booked one of his DJ friends to play our reception. Found out today that he has triple booked himself!!
My aunty is a photographer and is doing the pics for free. HOWEVER all the bridesmaids have kindly bought their own dresses (only £34 each from the bay of e and her daughter is one of the bridesmaids) and when I sent her a message today saying all the girls except Kiera now have their dresses she replied with "as I'm doing your photos for free can you cover the cost of the dress as I don't have the money?"
Not that big a deal I know but she's had a whole year to put aside a couple of quid here and there and she offered to do the pictures for free in the first place and now it's like there's conditions!
Finally my car broke down on Wednesday which I need to get to work and back (bus takes 2 hours!!) and it cost half of the money for the church to fix!!
And breathe.....
Can't wait to be married!

oh dear! these things are sent to try us! what is going to happen about the DJ. To be honest i think if you are getting your photos done and its only going to cost 34 quid, thats a bit of a bargain, not as much of a bargain as free, but still a bargain!

Is there another DJ friend you can get instead?? Ask him if he can find you another one........he triple booked himself his responsibility to find alternatives for the same price!
As for the dress its annoying when ppl go back on what they say but at least its only the dress she now wants you to pay for....finding money for photos would cause a whole lot of problems at this stage im sure!!
As for the car Ohhhhh I know how that feels. We actually decided to take our car off the road for a few months as it would cost £600 to fix so we are saving on the tax mot insurance instead and riding the bus instead and h2b bikes to work. Not an option for you I know but know how annoying it is

things do go wrong but at least you know about them now. For example, I have just checked our spa treatments and they have NOTHING, yes NOTHING booked in grrrr. And the worse thing is the woman said 'oh we wouldnt have missed this booking' implying it was something I did. Ridiculous and now they have given away my time so I have had to move it to 4pm. Not overly impressed. Therefore, its important to keep checking and double checking with suppliers. At least you found out now x

Thanks ladies! You're right Antonia, plus I just spoke to my mum and she said that my Aunty is going through a rough patch with her partner so I feel bad for moaning about £30 odd quid!
Hails, if all else fails my sisters husband will do it. Just wanted him to enjoy the day as a guest. A glimmer of hope on the horizon is I may have a tax rebate due at the end of February. Fingers crossed. :0)

whats wrong with the car? My OH is a mechanic and might know of a cheaper quick temporary fix until you can afford to get it going properly

Thanks Panther but it's all fixed. It was literally just the spark plugs and ignition coil which H2B could have fixed but he didn't have the right spanners. The mechanic charged us £100 to pick it up, change the plugs and coil and drop it back which wasn't bad, just with needing to give the church £400 in 4 weeks and only having £200 of it put aside so far it was something we could have done without!
Think my dad is coming to the rescue though. Blooming cars indeed though Cupcake! :0) xx
