    hiya
ive been checking my bank online everyday since i sent my holding deposit to my venue but so far they havent cashed the check.
i viewed the venue sunday 13th feb and then sent the check a couple of days later so its been ages really.
weird thing is i had a letter from the wedding planner about a week later saying thanks and confirming the date etc
i did wonder if i put the date wrong or something on the check but i would have prob had a bank charge and a angry wedding planner on my back lol
how long to checks last before he can no longer cash it?
    strange isnt it lol xx

I believe cheques are valid for about six months. My florist waited about two minths before cashing the deposit cheque. I usually try to pay for things via paypal or directly into their bank account, that way I know they have got the money and there's proof.

I would call them just to make sure and put your mind at ease xx

Hmmmm how bizarre. We paid our deposit to our venue and they didnt cash it, they keep the cheque and only cash it if something goes wrong or something? And we booked over a year in advance.

our depossit is not being taken off the overal total, it is being held in case of damage and will not be cashed if all goes smoothly.

I work in a bank hun and cheques are valid for six months, some companies wait until they have afew cheques to pay in at once as business are charged per credit that goes through their account. I'm sure it will all be ok, maybe just ring them to confirm your date again. x

@blondmumma that's how they do in France, they ask for security cheque that they will cash in case of damage or any problems and you have to pay in full the rest.

It's 6 months - usually venues have a cash collection once a week and they take a fortnight to clear. I'd be ringing and asking whats happening xxx
