hi, im newly engaged and in the early stages of planning our wedding. weve decided that we want our reception to be quite elegant, however my partner wants to put a spin on it by bringing in a theme of stars and planets. any ideas how i can achieve this without it looking tacky?

You could name your tables after planets and have crystal stars scattered on your tables etc. Place settings, invitations etc could be designed round your theme also x

yep nice theme!! i would make it more about the stars and sparkles, not sure about the planets though, i would stick to having them as the table names, and then maybe a few cocktails with the names of the planets in.

If your budget allows you could also have a star ice sculpture or luge. If you google images of star ice sculptire or star luge there are quite a few to give you an idea. xx

shame you are not in the North of scotland. There is a venue that has different lighting that you can choose, and one of them is the night sky! and its all twinkly stars above the head during the reception. They do rainbows and all pink and loads of other things. its quite nice!

I bought some LED lights that are star shaped for my house but thinking of using them for decorating venue by putting them inside glass vases. There is always a way to make a compromise and it still be elegant, good luck! :) x
