Hi all... First time I've posted.

Just wondering if any northern brides can help with a little info. We went to visit The Treebridge yesterday and loved it, the only reservation we have is that they didn't have many photos of the main function room set up for a wedding reception.

The date we want is available at the moment but we have reservations in booking it until we see the room set up at the opening evening on 23rd October. We're wanting to get it booked asap so as to ensure we get the date we require...

Is there anyone on here who has any photos / information that could help please?

Hi Rachel, I live in Stockton so not that far away from Middlesbrough. You could maybe ask them if you could provisionally book it without placing your deposit down? Just play a little hard to get and act like you have seen other venues which also have your eye and as you haven't seen the full potential of this venue you have reservations and would like to give them your date and only pay deposit AFTER you have been to the open day. They shouldn't have any issues with that. The venue we have gone with (Middleton Lodge) said to us themselves that we could give them our date and they would provisionally write it down until everything was signed and deposit sent off, and only when the deposit was sent off the venue would then be completely booked for us. Hope this has helped? Have you seen many other venues? x

Good point about provisionally booking. Our venue said that they would hold our provisional booking for about 2 weeks before we had to pay the deposit x

Also, can you contact them and ask if there's any way to could see it set up the night before a weddingthenext day or something?

When my OH went to pay an installment on our venue (I was working) they were setting the tables up for the wedding breakfast for a weddingthenext day. They showed him round and the ceremony room and he was allowed to take photos too.

Could you try their Facebook page too if they have any photos of wedding they've held?

Awh thanks guys! Never thought at all about asking to view someone else's set up! Fab idea :) I've checked out their website and goog images, will check out Insta now.

Treebridge can only provisionally hold a date for 2 weeks and then its a £500 deposit that is non refundable so we're desperate to see the room in all its glory before putting down any money. The weeks surrounding our date are already gone so we want to get it booked as soon as we can.

We've not looked at many venues as we have 4 weddings to go to in the area next year and don't want to use the same venue. So far we've been to visit Hunley Hall, Judges & Treebridge... We've got Rushpool & Wynyard Golf club to see this week. But very much love the Treebridge just due to the location and the lovely views of Roseberry Topping in the background

We went to a wedding at Middleton Lodge earlier this year... It was absolutely beautiful!! We were only at the evening do but the brother in law was at the day reception and had full praise for the food and the way the venue conducted the day :-) xx

Maybe contact them and say you are desperate to see the venue set up as you would love to have your wedding there, and ask if there's any weddings happening soon that you can view the set up for so you can put your deposit down straightaway. Then it's kind of like dangling £500 in front of them lol x

If you have your heart set on Treebridge then go for it. You know instantly which venue you want. Maybe send them an email or pop down and ask to see any albums that they may have or any photos of the venue dressed up for a wedding and as April said, say that you want to see how it looks dressed up before you put your deposit down to ensure that your date is still available. I am sure they will be able to work something out with you so that it is all sorted for you before the open day x

Maybe ask if the venue have sample photo albums that you can look at. At ours there are about 6/7 albums by different photographers which were great to look through xxx

Little update to this post. Haven't been on here for a while. Thanks for all of the above advice.

We decided against The Treebridge for various reasons & this weekend booked Wynyard Golf Club for 06/08/16. We fell in love as soon as we saw it, very modern with amazing views across the greens.

A long way off but we both feel like we have our dream venue! Eeek!!! Xx

Thank you ladies. All coming together now. We have the flowers, cars, photobooth and candy cart booked. Just need to find a photographer and then we can relax :) Been having sleepless nights already! A bit worrying considering the big day is 18 month away! Ooops!

Wynyard Golf Club is gorgeous! The 18months will fly over. I remember say we had 24 months when we booked our venue, we now are counting in weeks!

It's all going so quickly... We both sort of want it over with & to be married but super glad we have time to pay it all off.... Saving is so hard this time of year though. We loved the golf club as soon as we saw it, we can't keep away lately.... The more we see it the more we love it! Can't wait! Eeek!
