I was wondering brides who are getting married abroad what are you doing when you get home about about a party/celebration? I feel like I want a party in a way but on the other hand I feel like people will see a party buffet and DJ as a bit pointless :S I don't know if I'm just having a down day but today I just thought **** it we will just come home and get on with life haha! Can people for me some ideas please!!!
Thank you!!

Hey we're getting married abroad and we're having a reception when we come home (quite a few of my friends and family wanted a chance to celebrate with me and I'm sure yours will feel the same.) this is roughly how our day will go ( things may change lol) our reception is at a golf club and my boyfriend, his dad and friends are going to play golf during the day, me and my best friend are going to get hair, nails etc done and go out for lunch together. We going to ask close friends and family to come slightly early for the reception and we're hoping to get some pics of us all together. Then we'll have our reception, buffet, lots of drinking, dancing, first dance, cutting the cake. Because a lot of our friends and family live away from us we're hoping they'll all stay where we have our reception( it's a hotel too) we've also got a room booked there too and we can breakfast together. It's completely up to you what you want to do and what your budget is but I'm sure everyone would appreciate the party (everyone loves to celebrate stuff) and you'll get to wear your dress again :) x

My friend got married in Cyprus and had a home reception after. She hired out a function room in a pub, had a buffet, sweet buffet and cake, and all the bridal party wore their outfits again. She also had a photographer who was set up in one corner of the room so that they could take photos with whoever they wanted. She also had a band and a DJ. It was a great night, but just a warning, there weren't alot of people there! There were only about 40 of us in total, and a lot of them left early to take their children home! It was still a great night, but I think she wished she hadn't spent as much on it all as she did xxx
Got together 14.02.2008
Got engaged 31.12.2010
Will become a Mrs on 30.08.2014 xxxxxx

We got married in Vegas then a month later had a blessing in our local park for very close family and friends so they could feel part of something ceremonial. then in the evening we hired a restaurant and had a buffet, first dance, cake and disco type informal affair for about 90 people. It was great and I'd highly recommend it. x
We didn't get married abroad, but did get married away from home (at Gretna Green). Three days after the wedding we went on honeymoon - then once we were back home we had our evening reception for everyone.
We had a dj, buffet - and even enlarged and printed some of the wedding pics so that we could have them around the room and on tables so that people who couldn't attend the wedding still felt part of it. I also wore my wedding dress for most of the night - again, so people who weren't at the wedding could see it (and gave me another excuse to wear it lol).
