hi all i have 2 children who will be about 6 and 4 when i get married. we are not having a big wedding so i dont feel like i can do the whole page boy and flower girl thing with them. My eldest wesley, he is nearly 4 now, has already cottoned on that there will be a party for mummy and daddy and has said he wants to help. i want them to involved as they want to be but how can i do it?

she is gonna be 2 next month so about 4 when we get married. the thing is its not that big a venue as we are only having about 25 people to the actual ceremony. i dont know if we will all fit up front lol xx
bless thats so sweet that he wanted to help! could he have a role in helping the ushers (if you have them) to show people to their seats or hand out order of service or handing out something else. Maybe if you are doing favours they could hand those out. there are lots of different jobs in a wedding that are little people friendly. maybe let him be in charge of the rings? even a job that is really small and seemingly inconsequential would mean a big deal to them.

My kids are 10, 7 and 6 months now and were only having a small wedding too (50 guests during the day with an extra 30 for the reception). There all being my bm's and pageboy as i cant wait to see them all dolled up lol. Before the wedding their getting involved by doing little things with me. The oldest is helping with invites, while the middle is going to be putting the favours together for me. Then on the day my h2b will be giving the girls a new beginning necklace each to join our family together as one. So they will be involved in the day too. :-)
I know yours are younger but can they help you with making things maybe?

i was thinking that he could hand out the wedding favours with his little sister at the reception. i have already got alot of little bits like wedding favours (apart from edible things obviously). my H2B daryl was talking to his best man the other day about speeches. my son was there and said. "Well i am great at talking so i will do it for you dad." AWWWWWWWWW xxxx

Littlr girls don't get many chances to be flowergirls. How about she walks up the aisle then sits down? Thats what my five year old neice did at her parents wedding- she sat with her grandparents. She looked sooooooo sweet!

Our son's will be 9 and 7 when we get married, giving them both a ring to carry - Tiggs that's a lush idea your son walking you down the aisle!
I can't decide who to walk me down as my dad hasn't been around since I was about 10

lisa77 - bless, from now on vows are going to be vowels! too cute! why not let him do a little speech? welcome everyone and thanking them for coming. he would love the responsibility and if he is the character he sounds like he will do a fab job!

I think it would be lovely to have your daughter as a flower girl, like Dove said, she can walk up the aisle with you then sit down on the front row/pew. I'm going to have an 8 month old when I get married - if we have a girl then she'll be with my pops waiting for me by the altar on my side, if it's a boy then then it'll be with Ross' dad on his side.
There are so many ways to incorporate the little ones
It's right what they say
"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D
