Hello,
My name is Annette and I have less than a month to the wedding now.
I am getting married 1.5 hr away from where I live.
For my hair and make up I have booked a hair salon that was supposed to be award winning.
I had a trial last Saturday and it was not good.
The hair looked really nice from behind and absolutely awful from the front, it aged me by 10 years and I am already in my 40s here.
The make up was just laughable, I do better going to work each morning. She virtually just put some foundation, eyeshadow and mascara. That's it, no prep, no eye liner. I just looked really tired with big dark circles under my eyes.
She knows i am not happy with it, so she told me to come back next Saturday and she will do another trial.
Make up I can do, hair will be more difficult. I watched some youtube videos and I thought i would give it a go.
Now do I drive for an hour and a half on Saturday to give it another go, or do i cancel and just do whatever i can myself. There will be plenty of friends on my wedding day that can help me.

Any suggestions or ideas at all?
Would you give it another try or would you just do it yourself?

Hello Annette,

I would go for the second trial but before the hair and make up artist gets started tell her exactly what you want and how you want it to be different from last time, tell her what you liked and didn't like and see if there is any improvement if there isn't then you can do it yourself but with any service like hair and make up you have to be clear what you want and tell the person the moment they do something you don't like.

I did have pictures with me, but it just didnt work out.
I have fine hair so I suspect it's not easy to do much with it either.
But I thought if she is a professional hairdresser its up to her to say what will work and what wont, out of the suggestions i had with me..

I am thinking of trying something quickly today after work, if I can do it and like it enough i will just cancel the whole thing, if not I will go there and give it another go.
I will have to cancel the appointment for all 4 of us.
Although when my mum looked at me, she said to cancel hers straight away, when i got back home last week.

If you have fine hair then a good hair and MUA should be able to add a hair piece to give length/volume. I hae thick hair but I still had extra hair as a hair piece added to give even more volume and it looked fab. My bestie is also having exactly the same for her big day too.
